Hi! I'm going to be moving to Hefei in September and I'm having a hard time finding good resources on what life is like there! Reddit has some bitter people who don't seem to like it, but they don't seem like they've stayed there for very long and rte cities based on how western they are. I'm excited to go!

Yeh it's great here. You have to get used to the differences in culture, which most foreigners don't understand. Most people who don't like it here usually don't make any effort to fit in, they just stay western and aren't open to changing anything about themselves.Hefei is an amazing city. Growing really fast and not too busy. Most people are friendly. The food here is fantastic. Cannot eat enough of it. Haha. Let me know if you have any questions, I will try to answer.

So this is our cafe, it is named after our two dogs, Coffee and Mocca, Cafe Moffe! We had new wallpaper fitted, nice white slight embeded brick style. Really like it. Also got some decorations, pictures, i build an Eiffel Tower (given to me as a birthday prezzy), also have some giant bottle caps and other cool stuff.

We had some professional photos taken a couple of months ago as we wanted to have some fun haha. These are just some of them. It was a fun couple of days, got to dress up in all different clothes and pose. Only if i could get paid for this, it was easy. It was hard holding in my belly all the time though haha.

A friend of a friend came round to take some pictures of our food we will be selling in our cafe. He is a pro. So precise, really made the food look amazing lol. Also went to eat beef noodle and saw a bunch of old ladies in the back of a pickup driving down the road lol.

So, as i havent posted anything in a while i will post a few to catch up. On 27th August it was my birthday, 28, old bastard now lol. Went out to a lake near the city in a blow up boat in the morning. Stopped at a small place by the side of the road for food. It wasnt too bad. Then YY suprised me with a birthday meal and all her friends came too! They all got me gifts too. Such lovely people :)

Decided to just do my new blog through this tumblr username. Seems easier. Enjoy.

So, this is our little Cafe snack shop. Its only a little place located in the Baidu.com office building but hopefully we will get customers who will enjoy our simple but delicious food and drinks 😋 There are some changes to be made to the decor but not too much. Will be open in 1 or 2 weeks depending on how long the decoration takes. I am also considering teaching private English classes here in the afternoon/evening to earn a little extra cash. Just simple speaking classes. Lets hope all goes well.

I used to work as a barman at Mammoth bar & grill. But things change and now we have a chance to create something of our own. Although working here was tiring due to the late hours, i really enjoyed it. Working with such great people, so kind and helpful. Also got to meet some new friends who came in for a drink and a chat. I cannot thank the 2 other barman enough for their teachings as i was pretty useless when i first started.

This is me, my wife YY and our golden retriever puppy Mocca. This was last week on our 3 year anniversary. We went to food at a bar & grill called Mammoth at 1912 area in Hefei.
