if you hate data centers. you either need to stop using the internet (guess how many data centers all your fav social media sites use to stay running), or you need to speak out for/work towards better data storing technology that takes up less space, uses less materials, uses less/no water, doesnt pollute, is built in locations that are sustainable, etc
for however bad tumblr and tumblr bots are, it is nowhere near as bad as Twitter. I dont know how ppl use Twitter or like....enjoy using it
read the book Finite And Infinite Games its really good (free online pdf at link, you dont even have to download it, can just read it on the website)
it talks a lot about the concept of power and what you are forced vs not forced to do in life///how technically you are always "free" and you can stop playing society's and other peoples "games" if you want---even if there is a price
i think its v v v v important and good that conversations around neurodivergence and queerness and disability have become more open and popular and part of the conversation
but I ALSO hate how this means that so many more white ppl are treating themselves like poor little oppressed meowmeows and like using it to (re)center themselves
white women were already doing this and co-opting feminist movements to do this
this is one of the reasons I cannot stand cis women or contemporary popculture feminism
white people and misinterpreting their own discomfort with immutable disability
Listen I get it but you CANNOT use "sensory nightmare" as an excuse to avoid essential things. You HAVE to find a way to make it work, such as finding effective alternatives. But you can't just avoid it.
You need to eat some vegetables in your diet or you will become a lich.
You have to wear a life jacket or you will literally drown and die.
You need to be able to exist in public spaces with children.
You have to find a way.
