We start our night off with a recap of who everyone is, the whole time travel thing, as well as the three familiar faces.
We get a recap of the raptor taking out Rachel. Then the arrival of Dee—which happened on Unlocked and not actual Big Brother. Or is it actual Big Brother. Ya know what, I don’t know and honestly I don’t care anymore.
We’ve got Angela, Devens, and Dee competing for HoH. It’s just the three of these “icons” competing because of course.
Ashley is spewing some nonsense—I really don’t like her.
Drew is dangerous guys. This kid is way to aware of things already. Also he said Eric Stein is his favorite. ERIC! If anyone ever deserves a chance to play again it’s him.
Watching someone doing a puzzle with 4 other people holding it up is wild. Devens knocks it with his hip and it all falls down. Next Angela knocks hers down, and the fear of being a Have Not is bubbling up in her.
Is Devens about to flail out as if he’s Kaitlyn doing a puzzle?
Yash is offering Dee a lot of real help. She offers her whole team safety. She hits the buzzer and becomes the first HoH of the season.
Now she’ll have to nominate 3 people for eviction.
Devens and his team (Chuk, Drew, Haley, and Taylor) are now the Have Nots for the week. At least we don’t have to listen to Angela complain about slop.
Yash is like let’s go, and honestly, he should feel good about not going on the block because she promised them safety.
Am I the only one who wants the icons to be gone sooner, rather than later?
Oh here we are pretending the Have Nots will be something we see again on this season after tonight. A medieval torture bed. Can we just be done with this? It adds nothing to the show.
We’re finally sitting down to introduce ourselves and have champagne.
Kamu gives me Paul vibes, it might just be tattoos and the beard.
Haley trying to act like it’s not obvious who she is into.
Mallory, lying about her job. Girl no one was going to believe you’re a rocket scientist.
Chuk, very single.
Drew, 22 year old and yeah gives me similar vibes to Drew from BB5.
Melody, is here.
Jason, the drag queen. I honestly wasn’t sure he would admit it the first night.
Angela, thinks she recognizes Jason from social media.
Lyric, says she’s a singer, doesn’t want to reveal she’s a lawyer.
Rome is smitten with Lyric. Pickleball…yeah.
La Trice, messing with them over her age.
Haley, single and has a dog she dresses up.
Yash, from New Jersey.
Taylor, the elementary school counselor and she sells Lemonade.
Dee, has 4 kids—that are dogs.
Barrett is already in love with Dee. He’s blushing badly next to her. He doesn’t lie about his job.
Ashley, bartender who has never had a hamburger. I, can we evict her this week?
Devens, 2 time Survivor loser and former news anchor.
Angela and Dee celebrating her being HoH. Angela trying to give Dee advice on what to do, and how she messed that up. Dee promises her safety.
Chuk and Kamu in the storage room together, working together for an alliance. Kamu actually thinking about strategy. Chuk wants to bring in Haley to an alliance.
Jason, is already crying and no one has unpacked their bags. Angela comforts him, says she has a gay son who didn’t come out until after her season. Apparently she didn’t know. He says he’s in a gay bubble in West Hollywood.
Have Not bedtime, this would be the worst. The bed slowly moving—no thanks my vertigo could never. Also solid wood, naw my hips say nope.
Kamu and Chuk, go to talk to Haley about starting an alliance together.
Devens goes to Dee, he says it’s like the merge because there are so many people.
Honestly these 2 working together, makes more sense then Dee working with Angela. They have more of a connection. Devens admits in the DR that Dee is better at these games then him.
They’re already seeing Kamu, Chuk, and Haley as an alliance. Dee sees Angela as a bit of a hot wire that could blow the whole thing up. They like Drew and Barrett too.
Dee is going for the players. Devens for the ones who haven’t found a spot yet. It’s like the second day, nothing is set in stone.
We’ve got Lyric, Mallory, and Melody all working out together. Mallory thinks they’ve all connected. In all honesty I think they would all be down for a theme party girl.
Mallory realizes the Icons are safe, and she should probably talk to Dee to try and get safe.
Dee, meets with Kamu and Haley. Kamu says them and Chuk want to work with her.
Basically Dee and Devens are pulling in a brigade type situation.
Dee thinks Chuk, Kamu, and Haley are constantly gaming.
Kamu suggest Mallory, Lyric, and Melody.
Devens is like we need an alliance name first.
The Red Corner, apparently an MMA thing.
Get to know you time by the pool. Rome thinks Lyric is his type. She has trouble with the outside shower and he helps her out. Chances of a showmance 100%. Man these showmances move fast these days. They’re already all over each other.
Mallory hears the slurpy slurp…so does Yash.
Time for Yash and the Trio to gossip about it since he and Mallory heard them.
Angela tells Dee and Devens that this season is much better start for her. He promises he’s got her back. At least Devens is looking at the big picture of this game. Angela suggests Barrett, Drew. Devens wants to pull Drew in because he’s a reality show fan. The Icons bring Drew into the HoH bathroom to talk about an alliance. Devens suggests Barrett, and really wants him cause he’s tall.
Angela and Devens go to talk with Barrett, about being in an alliance. Of course he’ll accept it.
All five of them have come together to chat.
Kamu comes to the door though, gets sent away for 10 minutes. Dee tells the new group that they’re telling them who to put up.
She wants to nominate someone from each group from the HoH competition.
Angela wants the name, The Crossovers. Dee says this is the group she is loyal to.
I believe none of them are loyal to anyone right now.
Oh America we get to vote. They can only be chosen once, so less chance of us saying Production has a favorite that’s getting a power (*cough*Elisa*cough*).
Angela is desperate to belong. I’m expecting D&D to cut her right before jury if possible.
Devens is going to tell her about the red corner, this can go either way cause she is a wild card and paranoid freak.
Oh no, they named it! How dare they name a fake alliance. I expect Red Corner to end up being a bigger power house then the crossovers. Oh and now he’s going to tell Drew about it. This will blow up in his face.
Dee is not happy he spilled the beans about the Red Corner. Devens has a big mouth. This really is going to blow up against him.
Dee probably will keep Devens over Angela at least until Jury.
Mallory finds her way upstairs to talk to Dee. This is awkward as heck. This is a really hard conversation to try and follow. Ms. Theme Party Rocket Scientist is so not good at this.
Dee goes to the have not room, to talk to Red Corner. She tells them she wants to pick one person from each group from the HoH comp to be fair. Even though she told her group they were safe. She’s thinking Lyric, Taylor, and then Mallory is suggested. She tells them it was a awkward conversation. She also says it can’t be all girls or guys.
Kamu goes to talk to Dee and suggests Barrett, he says he didn’t play. He has a solid pitch because putting Yash up would be against her group from the HoH. Barrett comes up, Kamu leaves to give them privacy.
Dee realizes she can’t piss off the red corner alliance yet, but also she’ll look bad if she nominates someone from her HoH competition team.
Nominations time! I miss the key wheel okay. I miss the drama and anticipation of the keys coming from it and the surprise when your enemy saved you.
Rome, Chuk, and Jason all won safety during the first night.
Dee nominates Mallory, Yash, and Taylor. She tells them the most fair thing to do is nominate someone from each HoH team.
Mallory is in tears in the DR about this. Taylor says it’s a gut punch. She says her instant reaction is to put on a poker face at the table. Yash, says it was a mistake to put him on the block since he was pivotal in her getting the HoH. Honestly, he’s not wrong at all.
Devens is happy because things are going according to plan.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens with the Power of Veto episode on Wednesday. Or we can go watch the Live Feeds.
I’ll see you all next time.

We got too blessed on BB26 and BB27 with Matt/Zae actually flopping blockbuster… I just do not trust us getting an ideal week 1 boot for a third season in a row
I’m already mentally preparing myself for Yash winning
It’s been a while since I sat down and wrote a blog post about anything Big Brother related. I’ve been processing my thoughts about the new season so far and this is my first chance to sit down and write them all out. grab your iced coffee, water, or favorite beverage while we go over a few thoughts on the season so far.
Let’s talk about our cast.
While watching the introduction videos on TikTok, I kept getting these flashes back to the Big Brother 5 cast. Maybe it’s just a spiky-haired bro named Drew. But I got that familiar feeling from several cast members, not just him. Something about Haley also reminded me about Big Brother 5.
Was I the only one to get that vibe? Could it be that I was just yearning for some really good old school social play? Honestly, yeah, it probably was.
If we just had our newbies, we could’ve had an interesting season. I feel like whatever that game could’ve been would have been amazing.
Unfortunately, Grodner is always on her bullshit. Which is why Angela is back. We’ve got some network nonsense as well coming in. We’ve got not one, but two Survivors as well. I don’t watch Survivor. I have given it multiple tries over the years, and honestly it bores the hell out of me. I don’t care if anyone from Survivor shows up on Big Brother—they would and should be on my list of people to get out as soon as possible. Same with any returning players.
Of course, Grodner stays true to form and not one of the newbies is even eligible to play in the HoH competition, meaning they’re all on the line. So, Angela, Devins, and our third icon could play.
Okay, let’s talk about the dinosaur.
I love the dinosaur.
I despise Rachel. She is why I couldn’t give into last season. My disgust for her can be found going back all the way to 12.
When we saw the Vegas set part of me was hoping Memphis because, hello, it was clearly a mixology themed comp. But the knot in my stomach grew when that slim redhead actress picked up the letter. Then she came through the door declaring herself the queen.
RACHEL YOU ARE NOT THE QUEEN OF BIG BROTHER. SHUT YOUR BITCH ASS UP AND SIT DOWN YOU HONDA CIVIC.
I have long believed that part of the issues with Big Brother stem from Rachel herself. I can also put a lot of blame on Frankie as well.
Rachel misunderstood the core elements of Big Brother—and honestly, she still does.
Big Brother is not Field Day. It’s not just competitions. If you must constantly win competitions, then you are in trouble in this game. You haven’t made the connections that you need to survive.
So when she showed up, I closed my eyes, cursed the Big Brother Gods, and seriously asked myself if I want to keep watching this show.
Earlier in the episode, I had looked over at my boyfriend. I said man you would love the psychological aspect of this game, but the competitions are so cheesy you wouldn’t make it to the good stuff.
That was before a Dinosaur did us all a favor and took Rachel out for now.
Julie Chen Moonves announced it like it was breaking news.
What is this show?
So then we get Big Brother Unlocked with Derrick, Taylor, and now Jerry O’Connell. Because why not? Did CBS owe him some TV time from his contract with The Talk and this will fulfill it?
I miss Housecalls.
Oh, so we had to watch Unlocked, which let me tell you, it confused my boyfriend even more when he saw what I was watching. How do we explain this show to other people? We can’t.
Here we find out that Dee is the third reality icon now that Rachel has dissolved in a hot Volcano.
We got left with a HoH competition finally starting after they interviewed Rachel, and some nonsense about Andy the intern. Why is the intern guy like 40 years old? I mean that’s what I always pictured Skippy to look like so that narrative of him being handsy with the switch for the feeds fits.
Our newbies are all in danger of eviction.
You can’t tell me the icons won’t at least stick together until jury.
Here are some quick takeaways I had while watching the premiere.
Ashley looks older than 24, and she’s even more ditzy than I expected. She couldn’t find Enzo in the picture? Did she even try? I don’t trust her.
Drew, he’s going to rule a lot of the house, I think. He’s friendly, bubbly, but also not outwardly threatening physically.
Jason was the first one in the door. I don’t expect him to break the curse.
Barrett sketched me out a little bit.
Yash is going to be eaten alive in this house.
LaTrice could be super dangerous for the Icons and others.
Mallory reminds me of co-workers who specifically throw theme parties, talk about it in front of everyone, and then never invites co-workers to her parties. Like, "Look how cool I am—but none of you are invited."
Melody, girl, I refuse to believe your job is real.
Taylor, valid feelings about the Icons. Glad you didn’t have that moment in front of everyone else.
