what in the boruto
i might be so late to this but i recently came across this renee ahdieh excerpt from the wrath and the dawn: “it’s a fitting punishment for a monster. to want something so much—to hold it in your arms—and know beyond a doubt you will never deserve it.” and obviously my first thought was your fic and now i’m spiraling in this chinese restaurant bc. they’re both monsters to jujutsu society as special grades, so is it a greater punishment to remember or is it a greater punishment to forget? is gojo the monster who lives within that same society and tries to break the mold from within, only to be reduced to a weapon that’s used by said society? or is he to the monster who tries to slaughter the entire society, only to have his crimes all but erased while everyone else has to live with the memories of his actions and he doesn’t even get to remember the good parts at all? mimi you’re such a writing genius for this i don’t think i’ll be able to ever forget this fic at all.
(also. chinese restaurant in question.)
this is so gorgeous, thank you for this :') i'm actually still pretty surprised the title and themes kinda played into gojo's ending, haha! but yeah, what's the difference between human and monster, and why is it punishment? i don't know, that's not the most coherent thought. maybe i'll think that through later. that picture is beautiful, by the way, what a coincidence! i hope you enjoyed your meal!
slightly sadistic service top geto, you are so dear to me
happy pride month to that one screencap of geto carrying gojo
yes, i agree, shuzo oshimi.
finally rewatching hxh after putting it off for years. risking another bout of devastation, but this time informed. putting a training arc set in a game (even if pretense) before following up with the fucking caa is crazy. false sense of non-consequence. that arc hit like correcting a stubborn childhood cowlick. like a long-overdue homecoming. something like that. many thoughts. many thoughts.
today i finally got my younger students to read and write simple sentences, which is bonkers considering i was using anti-anxiety pills and alcohol a couple years ago to daydream so i could write stories about my favorite characters, fighting with strangers on the internet about useless shit. i'm working on making art while being sober and present, which should be easy...theoretically. inspiration doesn't always hit during my free time, but hey i squat 100kg now. can't complain about writer's block too much, i guess.
we're learning ordinal numbers this week and the unit is birthday-themed, right, so i wanted the children to have fun, y'know, make their own birthday invitations to practice ordinal numbers and vocab, so i had to make my own birthday invitation as an example, right, and then i'm reading the example invitation out loud and as soon as the words "twenty sixth birthday" came out my mouth, a collective gasp filled the classroom. mind you, only three out of seven kids came that day, but it felt like a stadium. a stadium. then in a small voice, a muttered, "my ninth birthday..." beside me. mortality is incredible.
This may seem like a silly question, but when do you think Higuruma's birthday is, and what is his zodiac sign? What makes you think so?
hi!! sorry for taking so long to answer!!
i'm partial to libra being in his chart because of the typical scales to the sign (him being a lawyer and his shikigami, judgeman) but i wouldn't say he has the diplomacy of a libra rising or libra sun. maybe a libra mercury, so the way he communicates?
as for his sun sign, from his sense of empathy and his idealism (considering his line of work and his response to it), i lean towards watery, so pisces or cancer, but i'm partial to pisces. (scorpio is a little too intense for someone like him. then again, playing executioner is, uh...well, water for sure.)
i'd say he could be an aquarius rising (second decan). immediate aloofness and detachment upon first assessment, but also more humanitarian and sympathetic than the usual aquarius, a bit more sympathetic. could also be an air moon, maybe aquarius or gemini.
all in all, mostly airy with some water, so his birthday could probably be around february or march. probably february. yea!
i love reading ur analysis! how did you get so good? i didn’t have access to interactive schooling during highschool bc i was forced into online :(( i cheated my way through like a dumbass & im REALLLYYYY regretting it now lol but i wanted to ask you, how do you retain information and interpret text you read? I’ve always struggled to correlate ideas and understanding text below the surface level. this is a lot, I’m so sorry! but I was inspired by how deep u got w jjk. i spent sm of my summer just rereading ur threads & posts bc i was in love w the manga but u were one of the few ppl who helped me uncover the purpose of the series
you're really too kind, thank you 😭❤️ and i hope you'd stop talking down on yourself!
i don't think i was very good at interpreting text in high school (though i was pretty good at wanting to be). i'd actually say that this is a relatively more recent development! i owe most of it to a lot of reading for fun (that includes fanfiction, a big chunk of it) and countless hours of watching video essays in the background. so really, just countless hours of listening to other people's thoughts. listening, learning, and parsing my own. sometimes you need to seek a spark from the outside to light a fire of your own, and that's okay! i think it's neat that our thoughts do not exist in a vacuum, it's even a little romantic!
whatever words stick out and stay stuck to you, whether it be a quote from a show or someone's meta online, use it to light your way as you create your own thought pathways. whenever you can, start a conversation and find the meaning you're looking for there. you'll start seeing a pattern, i guarantee it. and hey! if you're already having thoughts of wanting to be better, then you're already halfway there anyway! you got this! :)
my mental illness is reading something totally unrelated to stsg and remembering stsg. "Because when it is—it is. I am only limited by my identity." omg that's soooooo gojo
i've had two separate classes where students questioned the existence of dinosaurs, what discourse is it now
damn ma 😭
honesty corner gojo streams sza's what do i do maybe
hmm, you know i didn't think he'd actually come out with an epilogue given how hellish the tail end of jjk's runtime was
