i’m obsessed with the lighting here
spreading my house md in 2026 propaganda lately bc every post I see like that is all about queer ships/character HCs being canon and that’s like the least interesting thing about the implications of a modern day house to me
hard agree because i’m honestly obsessed with trying to puzzle out what the politics of a 2026 house md would look like. the kind of post-reaganomics bush-era republican that foreman was in 2004 no longer exists. would it even be possible for a guy like foreman to hold so many classically romantic (and classically conservative) beliefs after 2020. how would the show’s non-negotiably pro-choice ethos transform post fall of roe. how does house’s addiction hold up in the wake of the opioid crisis and the increased public consciousness surrounding opioids—is cameron carrying narcan in her purse. is there a risk of house potentially one day deciding to trade up and get fentanyl. etc etc etc. it’s fun to say that all the characters would be queer now, ha ha ha (conveniently ignoring that the show actually does have a canon queer main character, and is leaps ahead of its contemporaries in this respect…in part, i suspect, because she’s a bisexual woman, emphasis on the ‘woman’ part), but actually in many ways the world we live in now is harsher than the time the show was set in. and that’s scary and difficult and hard to acknowledge—because that’s the world we live in, and a lot of us turn to fictional worlds as escapism. but, like, house md was a show that tackled sincere social issues and was remarkably progressive in its attitudes, and so it is worth wondering what a show that was simultaneously so edgy and so liberal for 2004 would look like over two decades later. but like. you have to look further than just ‘omg hilson would def be canon’.
wait i want to piggyback but worse, because i was just talking about this the other day too. it’s such an interesting thought excercise, because in addition to the ways politics and tropes have changed, there’s also the question of intent: what were the writers trying to show and do? what was the political message they wrote in, both intentionally (casual queer characters, foreman’s small r republicanism) and unintentionally (the way the show skirts around feminism is very. 2010 post sexism and post racism.) what would the show be trying to prove and be today?
they both look absolutely lethal here

what are your favourite outfits of 13?
(im assuming your screenshot collection is vast enough to answer this haha)
she has so many generic cool girl outfits but I do have one specific favourite and it’s embarrassing how quickly I recalled this outfit. anyway my #1 (and I have no justification for this) is this one from Don’t Ever Change
and of course this one (I can’t remember which episode it’s from but it’s the gayest outfit she ever wears)
and there’s these two from Here Kitty (the right one just feels so specifically late 2000s in its layering. the left has so many weird ruffles but I like the vibe.)
and honorable mention because I didn’t see enough of it and my pic is terrible but her outfit to the camchase wedding intrigues me. those weird straps. so very Her.
oh and like every turtleneck she wears ever.
OH and this one with the weird sleeves ok that’s the last one I swear

i want to hear your hottest FIERIEST ROASTING BURNING take on wilson
I think the biggest indictment of him as a person and character, the single most telling thing he has ever done, is the moment very early in season eight where he and House reunite.
House has just gotten out of prison, right? For driving a car through Cuddy's living room; for breaking Wilson's arm (wrist?) in the same accident. House in fact spends much of the episode pretty correctly concerned that Wilson doesn't want to be friends anymore, that Wilson, as with Cuddy, is going to ignore and ghost him, want to punish him. And instead... Wilson doesn't really care. He's resigned; he doesn't seem pleased, exactly. But he can't be bothered to get worked up about it, to stand on principle, to call off the relationship.
And to be clear: I think this is damning. I do not think this is a sweet wholesome soulmates moment. This is Wilson dropping the mask. We've always known that Wilson really only cares about House's worst traits when they're directed at him; he doesn't actually care all that much if he's unaffected, even if he wants to care. The same goes for Wilson's morality in general: there's always an exception (when it's something immoral Wilson wants), there's always a justification. But he does, at least, always put on a show of Being In The Right, of disapproving, of caring. But now? Nah. He was assaulted; Cuddy, his friend, was assaulted. Who cares. House went to prison; whatever. He can't be bothered to pretend that House's actions and the harm he does others bothers him. That there's some kind of line that Wilson doesn't believe in crossing, that he is a good person who is bothered by bad things. That's always kind of been the case, of course. But now Wilson is no longer even pretending.
he’s always making some face isn’t he
post s4 house md is devoid of all these cool weird table angles
what would have happened if cameron got pregnant during the dibala arc?
Not a divorce, that's for sure!
The timing probably does matter -- when does Cameron find out she's pregnant? Is it during the weeks Chase is avoiding here? Because I don't think she'd bring it up immediately in that case; she's afraid he's lost interest in her and having an affair. But in Teamwork? She already wants to run away with him and start over; I can absolutely imagine her using her pregnancy to sweeten the pot, as it were: even more reason to get away from House. And I think it would absolutely work: all else aside, Chase has so many issues about his own deadbeat father, I really can't imagine him rushing to repeat history. House's main argument to get Chase to stay was "Cameron doesn't forgive or love you," and maybe that is still something Chase is worrying about (it almost definitely is), but... she's having his baby! That weighs the scales a lot!
Do Cameron and Chase know she's pregnant earlier? Say, when Dibala happens? I think that might screw things up in its own way: Chase is worried enough about Cameron not forgiving him; what about his kid? Chase isn't really the noble sacrifice "I'll leave you to save you" type, but I do think it would compound his guilt and avoidance a lot. But it's ultimately his doubts that Cameron would take him back that causes him to leave her; I think a baby would, again, tip the scales.
Does Cameron only find out she's pregnant after? Show up to Lockdown six months pregnant? That's the real wild card: I am honestly not sure what would happen in that case. Chase has spent six months avoiding signing the divorce papers and wanting to talk to Cameron; she accuses him of trying to "logic" her back and she's kind of right: everything he says in that episode is an attempt to convince her she was wrong to leave, despite his anger. It's tempting to say "he immediately proposes," but he is angry and has spent months (see, Private Lives) convincing himself she never cared about him, so I think he'd kind of freak. And the question would also be what is Cameron doing? What does she think she's doing? Would she be pushing him to sign the divorce papers and be a single parent? Is she trying to convince him he has to leave House and go with her?
It would be a mess in any situation, and I'd love to see it.
can i get this tattooed on my blog or something. extremely important scene to point at forever and all eternity
he is perhaps the most photogenic man alive
you know one of my favourite aspects of wilsons character is his ability to be a total dick and smarmy shit sometimes and i REALLY wish people would acknowledge those parts of him instead of pretending they dont exist. i am not interested in the fanon wilson who is a perfect angel i want the wilson who is weird and off putting too yknow
why would house be remotely interested in him if he was normal. like can we think for 2 seconds
i fear i dont trust you if you dont like amber volakis
I’m rewatching s2
it’s a Monday afternoon and I’m currently yelling about the fact that the ER is not on the PPTH directory. We don’t know where the ER is.
like clearly not everything is going to show up on the directory but. there are some things missing that seem like they should be there. visitors should probably know where the emergency room is. or perhaps surgery if patients have a scheduled surgery. do these departments exist in a pocket dimension?
Is this Kutner’s “blue steel”?
