Animal shelter application
Name: Akira Agarkar Yamada Age: 25 Sector of residence:Â Sector oo4 Relevant experience: Closest companion is a duck; While this does not explicitly pertain to animals, my previous line of work required me to handle situations dealing with non-humans, whether sentient or not, with care. Preferred work area:Â Animal recovery; Adoption wing
"Because of your age and experience, Yamada-san, I was curious if you might like to help manage the adoption wing? You can try it out first and be a regular employee until you decide, of course! Just let me know later! Thank you for applying and welcome aboard!"
"A managerial position? That's quite the offer you've handed me." Of course, there's really no reason for him to turn it down, now is there? Tapioca seemed rather upbeat about the prospect as well! "I'd be happy to take it up immediately, then. It'll be a pleasure to work alongside you!"
ANIMAL SHELTER!
Hive City isnât a city simply occupied by humanoids! There is a huge animal population that isnât always apparent to your everyday individual. Wild animals that live on the streets or in the parks, or in the underground below - pets that have been abandoned wander aimlessly, and those that are injured are left to die in this warped city. So letâs help give them a fighting chance!
With the resources and aid of both Charles Xavier and Enjolras, Wendy Marvell of Fairy Tail and Les Amis de lâABC will be setting up an animal shelter designed to offer a safe haven for the cityâs creatures, be they big or small. Within the shelter they will be treated and provided a comfortable, relaxing environment to rest and get better. Those that were once pets will also be able to be adopted from the adoption wing!Â
While the shelter itself is non-profit organization, there are paid openings for those interested in working here! At present, the only location is in Sector 006.
                   apply today!   â    employees!   Â

Take 2 | [Open/Intro]
[ A small sigh left the alienâs lips. He couldnât help but to think back about his friends in Enoshima, in fact - he found himself thinking about them constantly. Yuki was suddenly gone from Hive City, and Urara was probably gone too. A frown evident on his lips, Haru threw his arms to his sides and took large steps, nearly hopping with every step he took. He felt just a little lonely, but at least he managed to get friends here! ]Â
[ Not paying attention to where he was going, he didnât realize he was heading to a completely unfamiliar, or somewhat unfamiliar area that seemed to be filled with countless of people. Pulling his arms back, his frown turned into a playful pout as he put his hand on his water gun. He had thought of shooting it as a joke to see if he could manage to get people to stop being so crowded, but it wasnât worth it. He had promised not to use it anymore, anyhow. ]Â
[ Finally taking notice of his surroundings, Haru glanced around and stopped in his tracks, rocking on his feet as he placed his hands behind of his back. He tried to see if he could see someone familiar, tried to see if he could find a friend, and what he saw instead was a huge surprise. Something he wasnât expecting, at all. Squinting, Haru leaned forward onto the tips of his toes and gave a determined, focused look until his lips curved into a large smile. ]
"AKIRA!"
[ He called out for him, not wasting any time. He made his way swiftly past the crowd and over to Akira, not minding the fact that Tapioca was there with him and nearly leaped into his arms. Though when he did notice Tapioca, he did his best effort to avoid touching her. After all, she was a duck, and he was a fish. He was still a little scared of her. ]Â
"H-Haru...?"
Needless to say, nearly being tackled to the ground in a lung-crushing hug was the last thing Akira had expected to happen to him upon his arrival here. The act of love was so sudden and Tapioca had flapped her wings about, quacking loudly and garnering the attention from nearby citizens. She'd flown out of the Indian's hold, watching their reunion from the ground below.
With his feathered friend out of his hands, Akira hesitated before wrapping his arms around Haru, grinning and laughing as if they'd only seen each other yesterday. In reality, he really wasn't sure how long it'd been since he and Natsuki and Yuki and Haru have all been together, having gone their separate ways to his knowledge.
Nonetheless, he was happy to see him here, and a little disappointed as well. His thoughts were right on the money with these scientists, taking people from his own home.
"So you're here too?" He let go of Haru, finally allowing him to settle back down on the ground when he realized he'd brought him up from the hug. "I can't really say I'm happy about it, but it's a relief as well. I hope you haven't been getting into too much trouble."
"Why not make a club dedicated to ducks instead? They are humble, noble creatures much more worthy of praise than any human being."
"In-Incredible..."
The Challenger
The Challenger:Â What is the most misleading character trait about your muse?
((the fact that he seems legitimately antisocial most of the time??? though i feel like this point in the meme is to show something more negative underneath a misleading positive trait haha. however, people shouldn't be put off by akira's aloof and silent-ish nature; he can be very kind and passionate in the things he does, even if that passion makes him come off as brash or blunt.))
the achiever?
The Achiever:Â Does your character believe that âthe ends justify the meansâ?
((in a sense, he does. however, it really depends on what heâs trying to achieve. if thereâs something that he absolutely needs to find some sort of solution to, and if the means go against his morals, heâll try his best to find another way to get things done.))

âż Â Â Â Honestly, having someone offer to dance with her hadnât been within Sophieâs realm of expectation. She wasnât particularly adept at handling social situations, especially when she was all by her lonesome. Her journeys with Asbel, Richard, Cheria, and Hubert had opened her heart to the world substantially, but there were simply some things that would take far longer for her to adjust to.
So naturally, the combat humanoid was surprised when she found a young man approaching her out of the blue and offering her a hand. That hand was meant for dancing, wasnât it? She halted her food-filled dance party and stared down at the strangerâs palm for a moment, before adjusting her gaze upwards at his eyes. They were gentle. At the very least, he certainly didnât mean her any harm.Â
After scarfing down the crablette in her hands, she gently took the hand she was offered, thinking on the words that had accompanied them. ââŠBut, Iâm not a human being. Is that a problemâŠ?â
Sophieâs words were quiet, monotonous, yet curious. It would surely be hard for most to believe that the girl before them wasnât actually human, but instead an artificial life form created in the form of a person to act as a weapon. ââŠWill it still be enjoyable if Iâm notâŠ?â
"Not at all. I think I've seen my share of non-humans throughout my career," he says before giving a chuckle, taking her hand in his own and leading her away from the table. "Tapioca, try to stay off the menu if you can help it."
The white duck promptly responded with a drawn out quack before going back to her meal, to which Akira could only turn back his attention to the woman he was accompanying. Hopefully someone wouldn't mistake her for a to-be roast that escaped from the kitchens.
Weaving through the crowds, the tall man made sure this young woman wasn't left behind and he'd kept up that comforting, reassuring expression in his face. She seemed somewhat apprehensive about this, if her question hadn't betrayed that thought already.
"Maybe I should've reworded that sentence, then." He finally paused when they were in a less crowded part of the ballroom floor and stood firmly in front of the woman. "It'll still be enjoyable, as long as you don't allow that thought to hinder the experience. Can you dance?"

âż Â Â Sophie wasnât really sure why sheâd decided to attend the ball. She knew nobody in the city outside of Richard and Cheria, and it sounded like the both of them had other plans for the event in the first place. Still, a strange fairy had been nice enough to bless her with a dress, and while she wasnât used to formal wear she decided to not let her charity go to waste.
And so the Child of Fodra made her big debut as she stepped through the manor doors and found herself caught up in the splendor of the venue. It reminded her a lot of Richardâs castle, which was a good thing because she had fond memories of itâs inner rooms after visiting with Asbel a number of times! Aside from the dress, sheâd also chosen to wear her hair down, something the girl had grown used to back in Lhant, but found it more convenient to wear in twintails in a world where battle could happen at any possible moment.
In the end, though, due to a combination of not knowing anybody and getting lost in the sea of people, she found herself at the dining table. It was lined with dish upon dish, many of which the teen had never seen before. But most surprising, Sophie would find, was a large plate filled to the brim with⊠crab omelettes. Or âcrablettesâ, as she liked to call them. They were her favorite food, a strange choice for someone whoâd lived for over a millennia.Â
Naturally, she took one, her violet gaze resting upon itâs form for a moment before glancing back at the dance floor. Was dancing fun? Everyone looked like they were having a good time, at least. But⊠did you need a partner? Asbel wasnât here, so there likely wasnât a soul that would want to dance with here if Richard and Cheria had dates.
Still⊠she wanted to try. Holding the piece of food out in front of her, tenderly like she would a person, the girl begun to spin around like she was dancing near the refreshments table.
   âIs this supposed to be⊠fun?â
He'd been aware that there was going to be a very formal event coming up, something in which many of the city's citizens would surely take part in. Though, he himself had never bothered to seem interested enough to get an invitation. It wouldn't stop him from attending if he so wished anyway, and the Indian didn't think he'd be deemed much of a party crasher if he wasn't causing any trouble. Besides, he'd dressed well enough for the occasion.
Hopefully they'd allow animals on the premises, at least. He wouldn't know what to do if Tapioca wasn't allowed inside with him.
Hovering around the refreshments table, Akira had opted to gather a bit of food for his faithful companion while he watched the venue goers dance and have their fun. He wasn't the type to get himself involved with a large amount of people, being completely content to stand back instead.
Though, his onyx gaze settled on one particular woman, dancing around with... food? It was certainly odd, but nothing to be ashamed of. He'd left Tapioca to her dish as he moved to this dancer, giving an outstretched hand as he smiled softly.
"Dancing alone with food would probably be considered fun for a select handful of people, but I'm sure you'll find it to be more enjoyable within the company of another human being."

Take 2 | [Open/Intro]
"I'm not entirely sure that this is Enoshima anymore, Tapioca."
The tall man spoke with a calm but confident tone as he stood outside of the room that all newcomers were destined to exit from, eying the surrounding city and all that walked upon its streets and sidewalks. Tapioca preened at her feathers before looking up to him, quacking idly and getting a slight nod from Akira.
"I suppose you're right. We'll just have to make the most out of this. I would've enjoyed fishing more, but this seems out of our hands."
To be completely honest, this really wasn't the weirdest thing that's happened to him thus far. To a man that's worked around other eccentric higher-ups and following the notion that aliens are as real as anyone else, being whisked away to a rather normal-looking city with (almost) normal-looking citizens was hardly anything to get worked up over.
Half of him hoped he'd find some familiar faces at least, if this was the case. Who knows just how many of his close companions would be taken here as well. He wouldn't necessarily be happy to see them, of course, but it'd take a little bit of the burden off his shoulders. It's never fun being the new guy around, especially without someone to lean on.
Should he try to make some friends? Maybe he should get some food instead. Yes, eating always took priority over making friends. Food was perfect as a lonely man's companion.
And ducks. Ducks are also perfect companions for lonely men.
"That... That was a cruel joke."
