Emily the Criminal
Recently you probably heard of the US killing a top cartel and how it turned Mexico into a war zone. The interesting thing about these "bad hombres" is that they originally start out somewhat ordinary but what happens is that bad circumstances turn something inside them that escalate them into the FBI's most dangerous people.
Well, this movie is about that. Emily is a somewhat ordinary woman but had something inside her that just snaps during bad circumstances. At first I felt sorry for her, thinking she is just trying to survive. But later on you can tell she is choosing her path.
Aubrey Plaza is a natural in the movie. She impressed me because I didn't think she had it in her to play other roles besides being cute and funny. In this movie she was a natural at being a criminal.
Before Trump started to meddle in, Mexico had adopted an "abrazos no balazos" approach. Meaning hugs not bullets because the belief was that what these criminals needed was love. Trump lost patience and is going for a strong man approach. This is something to consider while watching this movie.
Reblog and tell me how as a job interviewer how would you handle Emily.
Sparrows Dance
This quote summarizes the situation: "If someone would poke out the eyes of the hawks, we sparrows could dance wherever we please!"
Its about a woman with a phobia to leave the house or talk to anyone in person. As a result she behaves strange. One day she is forced to call a plumber who turns her life around.
Good movie to understand people with phobias. As a rule of thumb is not a good idea to get into a relationship with someone who is vulnerable. In this case, I like to think it worked out fine. The movie doesn't really say but its nice to assume it did.
If you watched the movie please reblog with your opinion if the ending was a good idea or bad.
The environment had a vintage feel. The wall paper, the furniture, stove, fridge, etc. Classic setting. The laptop and blackberry phone placed the time frame around 2010s. Before instacart, uber eats, etc.
