     Cloud answered his phone. "Hello? ...Yeah, I can do that. Okay, see you there." Once again he'd been asked to go handle business. It was a trip that would take him away from home for several weeks; his home being the pink-haired soldier he'd come to care for dearly. 

     "---You don't have to say it," came an almost cold, disappointed voice. "You're leaving again. It's okay; I'm used to it now." Cloud didn't turn to face her. He simply kept his gaze on the floor. He was angry. Not at her, but at himself. He was angry that he would leave for weeks at a time and Lightning, the one person who he could drop everything for, became so used to his leaving, that she was practically numb to it. "I can't make you stay," she began once again. "But I'll be here when you return."

     And it was then that the lone wolf felt a pressure; a push, in the center of his back. The soldier had given him a sturdy punch in his spine ---- her way of reassuring him. "And you will return.." 

     He didn't respond. He didn't need to. She knew exactly what his silence meant.
