Ah muffins. They were Ditzyâs favorite treat and pretty much her go-to snack. Speaking of them, the mare was just trotting to Sugarcube corner to get a fewâŠ..dozen.Â
Apart from the fact that she really enjoyed them, they were also a comfort food. Something to stuff her face with when she was feeling upset. Unfortunately today was one of those days.
She was practically on the verge of tears by the time she got inside the bakery and any attempt to ask what was wrong with her was quickly brushed away with a false reason. The mare really didnât want to talk to anypony. She just wanted to go home and lay on her couch.
Carrying a rather large bag of her baked goods, she proceeded to fly towards her house. Almost there, just a few more steps and your home fre-Â
Her body began to tense up as a familiar voice called her name. She told herself to say calm and took a long breath on and out before turning to face the pony.
âHe-HeeeyyâŠ.â It was clear that she wasnât in the happiest of moodsâŠbut she was trying to keep it together for a while longer.Â
The Northern Empire had been functioning long with their lords and ladies wandering off for days at a times, and the present had not changed that with the current lord.
With a past of traveling incognito, Grey had slipped on a cloak and vanished from the mansion with ease, only a few trusted knew of his whereabouts or his plans to meet somepony special to him.
It didnât take long, routes were familiar to him and his impeccable timing favored him to get on the right train and stage coach to have him where he needed to be without much delay. It still gave him time to reflect over his time on the road, the untold hours he spend traveling, searching for something he never could find back home.
Arrival in Ponyville was a treat for him, to see the town where his sweetheart lived and worked made him swell with confidence that he made the right choice to come see her.
It took a bit to find her home, she had explained him her house as well as the address, but he had forgotten to write it down and bring it with him, but it gave him the excuse to wander around.
His timing blessing him once again, he had just passed a bakery to see a familiar colored mane and the frame of somepony he had a special place in his heart for.
Catching up with her just outside a home, he was certain it was her, her gait and the familiar smell of muffins, and the fact that he could see the side of her face helped a lot.
âWell if it isnât the sunshine of the north, all the way down south.â His face showed unbridled joy, something he was unable to control when meeting someone he cares so much for, his smile wide as he came closer.
Stopping for a moment as he heard her voice, it was not what he had expected from her, something was going on, though perhaps it was only surprise to see him?
âI wanted to surprise you with a visit, though I seem to have come at a bad time, youâre heading to work?â He motioned to the large bag on her back.
