A "Maury" look-alike was just the latest entry in a three-year-old conspiracy theory that questions whether the Republican presidential candidate is really who he claims to be.

people have so much time on their hands bye?
I know I want to go to conservatory for graduate studies, but I sometimes wonder if I'm even dedicated enough to music. I keep wanting to take days off practicing, which makes me feel both relaxed and frustrated.
Happy Third Birthday, Music Theory Augmented!!

“Never forget the days I spent with you. Continue to be my friend, as you will always find me yours.”
“Nothing is more intolerable than to have admit to yourself your own errors.”
“I shall seize fate by the throat; it will never bend me completely to its will.”
“Applaud my friends, the comedy is over… [on his death bed]” ― Ludwig van Beethoven

I’ve just been reading quotes by Beethoven on the internets (can’t really confirm if they’re actually what he’s said/written), and my impression of him is that he was someone who struggled in society, but if you were his friend, he was fiercely loyal to you (regardless of what color or gender you were) - he didn’t care for petty small talk or conform to social etiquette. Instead, my impression is that he wore his heart on his sleeves, and he only valued a deeper and much more meaningful friendship. There is even that famous story of him refusing to accept an apology/dedicate a violin sonata to a violin virtuoso (I forget his name) because he insulted one of Beethoven’s lady friend.
Today, Beethoven probably has the biggest figure/influence in classical music, casting a huge shadow over everybody else. When we begin to learn his music, I think there is a bit of hesitation for a lot of us simply because his music carries a lot of weight, and to carry that responsibility can be daunting. But I feel that if we put in all our effort to learn and play his music honestly and loyally, then he would let you into his inner circle of friends; he would never betray you, never put you down for the lack of your skills, and never allow anyone else to insult you.
Of course, these are only my impressions, something I thought about just by reading some of his quotes. I may have completely misread his character, but as of right now, he’s quickly becoming one of my role models. I will never be the genius he was, but I definitely aspire to have some his qualities, like being a loyal friend: encouraging them with their studies, talking and listening to them to give help and support, and never letting anybody else say anything about them otherwise.
HAPPY 245TH BIRTHDAY FOR BEETHOVEN!
Reblogging what my thoughts were of him from 2 years ago, and honestly, my opinions haven’t changed.
I’ve had wonderful opportunities to play some of his orchestral pieces since writing this post, including his Violin concerto and symphonies 4, 9 and (currently) 2.
I also really like that quote of his, “seize fate by its throat; never bend completely to its will.” I’ve come to terms with my own musical abilities and decided that it doesn’t matter that I’m not a musical prodigy or not superbly talented with it; I’d rather practice hard and get to where I want to be rather than leaving it up to fate.
