This is how Mizi talks about Ivan. He’s her family, she LOVES him, and there’s multiple comics/moments where they’re shown to be close friends!!! They’re both incredibly loving people in wildly different ways! Stop acting like love is only important if it’s romantic! MIZI LOVED IVAN!!!!! (And obviously Till loved Ivan in his own weird in-denial way, but that’s another post)

I just think it's really beautiful how, for such a bleak setting, ultimately Till is alive only thanks to the intervention of those who loved him. Ivan sacrificed himself to keep him alive in their round, Mizi saved him last second despite wanting to blow up the stage.

His new short haircut also seems to be a throwback to his mother who's the main reason he even got to experience love and affection under such awful circumstances in the first place 🥹

Basically, he's part of a cycle of love and affection throughout the story and he perpetuates it by saving those kids the aliens created using his and his friends' genes.

I just really appreciate how despite all the tragedy and ugliness of the world they live in, and the failure to completely disrupt the status quo, there is still this underlying hopeful feeling that survives thanks to his own survival.

On one hand, we have Mizi claiming "I did not love her enough"

On the other hand, we have Ivan claiming "He did not love me in the slightest"

And both of them were so wrong
