If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. – Maya Angelou
Where do bad thoughts come from? I just started meditating a little over a month ago. I have always been an over-thinker and meditation has helped me become more aware and mindful. However, it really bothers me when I have a negative thought about someone. It is sometimes about the people that I love and these thoughts aren't true and are hurtful. I ask myself why in the world did that thought even come through my mind to begin with. I have a hard time grasping this.
The mind can often be irrational. You don’t have to judge it or fix it. Just notice it. Realize you are capable of having irrational thoughts, but you are also able to choose which thoughts to take seriously and act upon. It’s about noticing with loving-awareness and being empowered to choose sanity.
There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. – Nelson Mandela
When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect toward others. – The Dalai Lama
Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well. – Voltaire
How important is it for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! – Maya Angelou
Amazing Day Gratitude Quote by E.E. Cummings
Among the things you can give and still keep are your word, a smile, and a grateful heart.
Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others. – Cicero
A miracle happened; another day of life. – Paulo Coelho
