hi everyone! american airlines broke my laptop!

like my tweet says, i was forced to have my carry-on checked because they ran out of overhead space. i had no choice in this or i would not be back in texas in time to get to work.

i was not encouraged to remove my laptop from my bag, in fact, the employee only asked that i ensure any electronics were powered off, therefore implying having electronics in my bag was fine.

obviously, this is a completely unexpected expense and i'm fuming. i tried to file a claim, and they are refusing to accept it. i do not have time to go back to the airport to fuck with this right now. i do need a new laptop. i'm trying for one that costs around $600 but i can live with a dinky $200 laptop if i need to.
