This post and the following are dedicated to the day the Solar Eclipse took place in Dundee. The day was wonderful and sunny. We went to Dundee Law to capture this incredible phenomenon and interact with our hashtag #dundeescovery on Instagram.

We gathered our images of Dundee and we have been looking closely to the city’s details. We want to promote Dundee and its culture, architecture and history. The Dundeescovery team is here to share the love for Dundee!

3-day progress of using the hashtag #dundeescovery We did not expect so many people becoming interactive and starting to use the hashtag we created. It was a very intriguing way of communicating and sharing images of Dundee. People started editing their posts by adding the hashtag. This enabled us to find their images and re-post them with no ownership. We have realized that Instagram is a very large platform and many students and dwellers of Dundee would have an archive of pictures around the city that would be pleased to share and be showcased. It is a win-win situation. We get support and we gain followers, while we promote both Dundee and the users uploading their images.

We also learned that during the Medieval Era, Dundee was considered as the city of jute, jam and journalism.
