How to make a CRAZY LIT D&D campaign…
USING TUMBLR GIFS
First pick a number. We will go with 15.
Search the word “Places” or “Locations” in the Tumblr GIF search and select the 15th result.
There’s your starting point. A cemetery.
Now look up “Time” or “Weather”.
There we go! Now you have the time of day and roughly time of year this starts! We’re gonna say this is winter in the mid afternoon.
Now you’re gonna look up “Person” or “Character”.
Now look at that! We are on a roll here! That’s the face of our villain. We’re gonna say the party wakes up to this stranger standing among them and then quickly vanishes before they can react.
Now go back and without even typing anything, pick the 15th GIF.
Well look at you! Already a pro! This item or person will be the party’s goal to obtain. It’s your choice whether or not this thing is also the goal of the villain, or the tool of his demise.
And finally, look up “Places” or “ Locations” one last time.
There you go! That’s where the party will have to go to find what they’re looking for! You can also look up these words again to take the party to the Villain’s location, if you want them in separate places.
If you ever need more to go on, you can always look up more words in the search bar. Like extra people, magic items, locations, events, weather conditions, anything you want, really. Have fun and let me know how your campaigns go!

KOHAKUTOU | Edible CRYSTAL Jelly Gemstones Recipe & Taste Test
Omg this looks like some sort of Fairytale Horror; like, a town with trees that have missing pets or people etched into them- coming off naturally enough to be dismissed as bark/tree discolouration
The framing of this image is just perfect subtle horror.

Earth's magnetic field plays a vital role in everything from animal migration to protecting the Earth from the Sun's harsh solar wind. Now, a recent study finally sheds light on how some birds visually see Earth's magnetic field.
A special eye protein is helping birds to “see” Earth’s magnetic field! If that’s not cool, I don’t know what is.
The ability to see Earth’s magnetic field, known as magnetoreception, relies on the presence of specifically the blue wavelength of light. The complex process involves “radical” intermediate molecules which are sensitive to Earth’s magnetic field. The Earth’s magnetic field, as it relates to the direction the bird is facing, could alter the intermediate radical molecules differently, giving the bird a sense for where it is facing in relation to the Earth’s magnetic field.
While the exact way birds visualize Earth’s magnetic field is part of further investigation, scientists believe the Cry4 protein acts as sort of a filter over the bird’s vision. This filter would allow birds to see a sort of compass of the Earth and direct their migratory flights accordingly.

Concept: You walk outside one night and notice that there are two full moons. A few hours go by and they don’t seem to move.
You stare up at them.
They blink.
You blink back. It’s only polite to return the greeting of the Big Night Cat.
I meant for this to be all spooky and ominous, but fuck it, this is way better. I love the Big Night Cat. She is beautiful. I support her.
Just saw this on Twitter. An awesome idea for players who are stuck and for DMs to foster more involvement from your party in the world. @probablynpcrpgideas
dungeons and dragons always has great stuff. there’s a jug that you can use to create 2 gallons of mayonnaise at will, like it’s actually written in the dungeon masters guide can you believe that
things my party and i have received in the course of our campaign:
a rock of gravity detection. you hold it out and release it. if it falls, gravity is working.
a wand of magic missiles…and polymorph. i can hit anything i shoot at, but i’ll also turn into a random creature. i’ve been an alligator, an octopus, and a tiny demon so far.
a cloak of tongues. sounds like you’d learn random languages, yeah? NOPE, THINK AGAIN SUCKER. you get to taste anything for like 30 yards around. our halfling informed us we all taste gross.
2 different rings of invisibility–one makes me invisible, but only to myself. the other makes me marginally stealthier, but also makes me absolutely convinced that i’m completely invisible.
the thespian mask of duality. two personalities become mortal enemies within the wearer. the effect is permanent.
and finally, the shield of protection. when you use it in combat, it will use your body to shield itself from harm.
God these are good
Cellulose nitrate was used to make dice from the late 1860s until the middle of the twentieth century, and the material remains stable for decades. Then, in a flash, they can dramatically decompose. Nitric acid is released in a process called outgassing. The dice cleave, crumble, and then implode.

a fun thing to do if you’re bored is to rename things around your house.
