"This isn’t what I’d call a ‘learning day’. It’s nice and foggy out."
"You like the fog? Well, i guess we don't get a lot of 'nice' weather.."
She nodded, really just thankful for him to get on with it. As the cold air hit her, her features screwed up and she tried to stop her teeth chattering as much as she possibly could. Though now dry, she was still very cold. “Thank you, really.” she stammered, hugging him gently before grabbing another few dry towels to wrap herself up in. “Right, back to the common room, I think. Better defrost before I catch something.”
Kaj hugged her back, still worried about if she was going to be okay or get sick or something. "You're welcome.." he muttered back, though he didnt think he needed to be thanked. Any normal, decent person would've helped her; but he supposed those were rare at this school. "Yeah, go get warm. though I still think you should go to the nurse."
Have I missed anything big while I was gone?
Well, did you miss the extra credit? that was a bloody nightmare.
"Well, I didn’t know that showering was so hazardous." she replied, a shaky laugh there as her body started to go into shock. "I think… I just need to dry off. If you haven’t got a spell for that I’ll have to just go back to the dorms, I suppose. I don’t have any other clothes with me." Pamela had started to shake in a manner that was likely worrying.
"It's Durmstrang, everything's hazardous..." he muttered with a shake of his head. Kaj thought for a moment, before answering, "I think I can dry our clothes, but that's about it." She was starting to shake, and that couldn't be good. he pointed his wand at his own clothes, muttering a charm and drying himself off. His mother had been at that, and he'd worried he couldn't do it as well. True, his shoes were still damp, but it was better than nothing. Then he turned and did the same for Pamela, hoping she wouldn't catch hypothermia or something from the cold air.
"Trying!" she called, even letting out a hysterical little laugh as her teeth chattered. She tried to stop, avoid biting her tongue, that was her priority at the moment. As soon as the bricks were out of the way and had clattered to the floor, she stepped out of there rather rapidly and threw a towel around herself, pyjamas soaked and icy cold. "Bloody… Demyan Avdeev. I came down here for a shower and left my wand in the dorms, I thought I’d only be five minutes."
Demyan, well that figured. Though Kaj would've suspected Alexei over Demyan. "Well I hate to say that that's not surprising.. I carry my wand everywhere, this school gets pretty crazy." he told her, ringing out his shirt. "Do you need to go to the nurse? you should really warm up, it's freezing in here."
As the water suddenly rushed out of the stall, Pamela took a gasping breath as soon as she was allowed. “Yes, yes! I’m alright, just getting out would be good.” she answered, flipping her long hair behind her and out of the way. “Thank you Kaj!” she added as an after thought, waiting patiently, even if she was starting to shiver from the cold.
After a few minutes he'd cut an outline of several bricks, big enough for someone to step out of. "Just don't freeze, yeah?" he asked, already feeling cold to the bone from his soaking wet clothes. he stepped back a couple of feet and pointed his wand at the bricks, pulling the large chunk he'd cut apart from the rest and letting it fall to the floor. Then he summoned his quidditch bag that had a couple of towels in it for showering after practice. he pulled one out and walked over to Pammie, handing it to her as he asked, "how'd you get bricked up in there? where's your wand?"
The voice that sailed over the sound of the rushing water became recognisable as it was louder, heart filling with relief as it was some one from her house, who she would also likely call a friend. “Oh Kaj, thank god!” she shouted, before quickly doing as he said and standing back from the brick wall. Though she was now stood under the shower and the water falling on top of her head, it was likely better than being hit with possible flying bricks. She pinched at her nose to hinder the possibility of breathing in water as the level reached greater heights, it stopping just below her now closed eyes.
He looked around for any alternative, but saw none so he directed his wand to the bottom corner of the wall. "Confringo," he said loudly and watched the corner bust to rubble, nearly knocked over by the secondary flow of water from the hole. "Pammie are you okay?" he called before muttering Defodio and setting to work on cutting a way out of the bricks.
Hello loves I am mobile
"Because heaven knows missing out on morning excercise is such a hardship." Zoya smirked, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"No, but everyone else is practicing in the morning and evenings. We've got to stay competitive! ughhh." Kaj shook his head, frustrated. "Sorry, just kinda stressed, ya know?"
"I will, don’t you worry." She grinned, running a hand through her hair. "Urm, by making sure we’ve booked the pitch, maybe?"
"You know, that's actually not helpful," he sighed, shaking his head. "I think I've been sabotaged. Oh well, guess we'll have to keep practicing during morning exercise."
"And that 4% is why I should’ve been Captain." She winked to show she was teasing. "We’ll just go on when they’re done?"
"Oh sure, automatically go to that!" he rolled his eyes, schrunching his face in frustration. "Yeah, I guess but still. How are we supposed to practice if the pitch keeps getting taken?"
“Two weeks Saturday. Now run along before I turn your hair into a bonfire for a tribe of bowtruckles.”
"My hair is much too pretty to light on fire, don't know what your problem is."
“Tell me what you want or I can guarantee that disturbing me will result in an agonising death.”
"Merlin you're in a shitty mood. I was just wondering if you knew when the next Griffin/Elg match was."
"Oh come on, Mattson, I’m not that bad."
Not you, the Quidditch pitch is reserved for the evening again but I'm 96% sure I had reserved it last week.
That’s not a happy face.
Someone's decided to brew potions in the toilets again and apparently clean up duty has fallen to the Ambassadors because our insane caretaker is 'busy'.
Oh Merlin, not again...
"Oh - God. Sorry. I didn't mean to - I didn't realize -"
She made a face at him. “Joke all you want, but if you foolishy wrote down your secrets and didn’t put a spell on it, you’d be a bit panicky too.” She said, though she wasn’t really upset with him. Beginning to search, she got on her hands and knees and squinted under one of the lockers. “I swear it just grew legs, up and walked away, damn magic.”
"Geez, I'm starting to wonder what kind of deep dark secrets this book holds if it's so important!" he laughed, standing on a bench to look atop the lockers as well. "what's it look like? is it leather and kinda small?"
