Seeing as I’ve decided to shelve this blog if you follow this one you should follow @leofaulknerarchive
They have everything I’ve posted so far plus a whole lot more and they aren’t trying to shove the reveal of Leo’s identity to fans of his current band.
When I started posting the bits I did here that was one of my worries and why most of the posts are set up as no-reblog.
While Leo is a special talent that deserves sharing it is unfair to ruin the carefully crafted lore and mystique for those that aren’t interested in looking behind the curtain.
See, this is what I mean. I never said any of this. This post was made a day after I created the archive. They immediately assumed I wasn't going to connect Leo to Sleep Token and I don't know why. I never said I agreed with the idea of the "carefully crafted lore." I never said I was interested in maintaining the "mystique."
"You love an idea of me which you have falsely fabricated in your head, and it is not my fault if I do not live up to those expectations." - Daniel Sloss, "Jigsaw"
Well this is awkward isn’t it.
You appear to have taken my good will and turned it in to some kind of device to defend yourself against something I am unaware of.
Up until today your blog has not mentioned Leo’s current band by name. This is what I was getting at with my post. I felt your blog existed to promote Leo (and the others) work to people who already knew but you weren’t spamming tags that directly linked to the band. If you had wanted to you could have tagged every post with the current band, making sure people who didn’t know their names were aware of them and all their other projects. But you didn’t. You tagged posts with Leo’s name, with whatever projects were relevant to what you were posting but never the current one. To find your blog you have to search for Leo or the name of his old projects. Until today you haven’t even mentioned his current band or “persona”. This was the intention of my post at the time.
Maybe I made an assumption. But that assumption was that you were sharing and promoting Leo’s previous work to people who already knew what his name was, who wanted more, but hadn’t heard his previous work. But you weren’t shoving it down the throats of people who didn’t know or care to know.
Whatever you’re going through at the moment I hope it resolves itself.
