opening update!

so due to some unforeseen circumstances like jcink’s server being down last night, our soft opening for tumblr followers will be tomorrow afternoon! we’re working as fast as we can, but we want the site to be pretty and functional for everyone when we open tomorrow.

There's a legend that within the the Capitol's limits, anyone can buy anything.

This legend is a lie, purposefully crafted by the one-percent.

They whisper in their penthouses, over their drinks when they think no one is listening: for a price, they can be happy. For a price, they can besatisfied. For a price, they can have what everyone dreams of: a victor of their very own.

Old as the Games themselves, the victor prostitution ring is the chance for sponsors to congratulate their victors up close. Devoted fans meet their idols in the dead of night, under the promise of absolute discretion. For a night, or a day, or maybe even an entire week, victors can be purchased. They can be owned. They live to please, and President Snow charges a pretty price for pleasure: the most expensive victors are those whose popularity and reputation proceed them. It's the law of supply and demand at work: cut supply, and demand skyrockets.

Inclusion in the prostitution ring is an honor; President Snow invites all victors himself, and meets with them in his mansion prior to their first appointment. The majority of victors are invited in the first days of their victory tour, and are former career tributes who captured the hearts and imaginations of the Capitol. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule; anyone popular or pretty enough can be asked. And they can refuse, but like everything else in the Capitol, refusal comes at a price.

In the wake of Thirteen's attack on the arena, the ring has lost some of its most lucrative investments. The rescue kidnapping of victors like Finnick Odair, the most popular and expensive one night stand in the Capitol, has left Capitolites' wallets full, but their beds empty. The only solution is one that President Snow plans to introduce quietly, with just enough fanfare in all the right circles: a new roster for a new ring.

I'm looking for a victor who is around 28-32? What victor spots are open?

so figuring out which games your victor could’ve won based on their current age is a little bit difficult sometimes, because math sucks. the easiest way i know is to figure out around what age you want them to have won. finnick won the 65th games at fourteen, and he’s the youngest victor in the games’ history. almost all other victors won between 15 and 18. their district can also impact the age at which they won, because it’s rarer for career districts (one, two, and four) to field younger tributes when they have older ones (seventeen and eighteen year olds) who can volunteer and have a better chance at winning. 

i don’t know what you’re planning for districts or anything, but given the more realistic age range of 16-18 when they won their games, the earliest they could’ve won (if they’re 32 now) is around the 58th, and the latest they could’ve won is around the 61st.

are there anymore victors open? it's really hard to follow the "canons" since there's not one big post?

do you mean for originals or the canon victors? currently, there’s a total of 25 spots open for victors, both original and canon. those spots are divided between the victors that were picked up by district thirteen from the arena, victors who were recaptured by the capitol from the arena, and victors who were reaped to serve as mentors, who are now trapped in the capitol. for the victors now in district thirteen, there are five spots open (including the “reserved” space, because that’s saved for a staff request character). for the victors who were picked up by the capitol, there are three spots. the majority of alive victors are currently in the capitol, because they served as mentors. there are eighteen of these spots left.

we’ve listed some important canon characters who aren’t taken (like peeta, haymitch, and johanna) as either taken by 13/taken by the capitol/or stuck in the capitol as mentors. if you want to take a canon who isn’t listed yet, you’re free to decide if you want them to have been in the arena and picked up by thirteen, in the arena and returned to the capitol, or stuck in the capitol as a mentor. the spots are first come, first serve, until they’re all filled. 

i think i’m a little confused about what you mean when you say the canons are hard to follow? our reservations list is updated on the reservations page, so if a canon isn’t listed there and isn’t listed among the deceased victors, they’re open for reservation. even if they are listed as among the dead, if you want to play them we can replace them with someone else.

the killing lights

Sponsors. Next to President Snow and the Gamemakers, they are among the Capitol's most influential citizens. Every year, they party and schmooze with mentors, charming and being charmed as they watch the Games. Their gifts can save their favorite tribute or maim and murder the competition. Tributes and mentors compete for their favor, aware that a single gift can upset the Games' balance.

Rich enough to buy whatever or whoever they want, sponsors are not accustomed to being told no. President Snow panders to them often enough that some have forgotten that they are only influential with his permission. He has ordered them to wait, implored them to be patient in the face of the unforeseen circumstances that surround these Games. The President promises that their patience will be rewarded: the games will continue, more spectacular than any in the past.

But the sponsors care little for the past -- they're bored, and if Snow doesn't plan on providing them entertainment, they'll make their own.

The fights happen at night. The arena is concrete floor and soundproofed walls. Betting runs high and blood flows free as booze; just like in the Games, sponsors are free to buy weapons for their favorite victors-turned-fighters. Each fight is different: dogs against dogs, bears, or rat hordes. Bare-knuckle brawls between victors, the first to knock the other unconscious wins.

Close enough to feel and taste the blood spatter, the sponsors are addicted to their newest invention, while the victors who remain in the Capitol find themselves in yet another game with potentially deadly consequences.

not necessarily! since she’s such an important canon, it would be especially important for her writer to keep in contact with the staff and site plot, but having her around would be really interesting! all major canon characters are required to post in character at least once every seven days, so she would be held to this rule or the claim would be up for grabs.
