Been holding on to this track for a while. Something that I made over a year ago and recently added some guitar and synth leads to. This one is grimey, detuned and chaotic with some cinematic melodies to balance it out. The idea for the title of this track came out of the then recently signed NDAA and the ever growing frequency of police brutality in this country. Violations of civil rights and excessive use of force by law enforcement has increased over 25% since 2001 along with the erosion of civil liberties and protections guaranteed to every American citizen by the Constitution.

As 2013 comes to an end, I'm reminded of the accomplishments, failures, life changing experiences and challenges that have been overcome in the last 12 months. This year my nephew Trenton was born, A handsome baby boy who has already taught me so many things about life, reminded me what's important and brought our family closer together. I'm so proud of my sister for being such an awesome mom and a strong woman. Also this year I got engaged to my best friend, my girlfriend of eight years Rayleen. For nearly a decade we have lived, learned and grown up together, fallen in love over and over again and have never left each others side. For the last two years we have been living in a small rural town outside of San Diego in a 10'X15' studio with two little dogs, a tiny bathroom and a hotplate for a kitchen. We decided to downsize and move here while Rayleen was in school and interning for an MLT job position, as well as to save money to buy a condo in SD. 2013 has also been a year of a lot of hard work, sacrifice and investment in the home repair/renovation business that I started a little over a year ago. Starting this business has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've ever done. It feels great to get up every morning and use my skills and creativity to solve problems and improve peoples homes and lives. I'm not the type to have a boss and prefer a diy hustle even though It's more time consuming and risky at times, the struggle keeps me motivated to succeed. I feel blessed that all this hard work is paying off so that I can still have time to travel and make music. Speaking of music, I have a few projects that are in the final stages of production and will be ready to share with the world early in 2014. One is an EP with my friend Eric Poline (OpenOptics, Inspired Flight). This past summer we were lucky enough to provide the music for this Burning Man Time Lapse video, shot and edited by Jason Phipps. The response from media and fans has been so humbling and inspiring! The song from the video, (as well as the full length original version), plus three other tracks will be released within the next two months on Create Fate. The other project is an EP with iD the poet , a six song hip hop album called "Dream For Me I'm Waking" that is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2014. In the meantime I have some new solo tunes that I will be posting up on my soundcloud and bandcamp. Here is the first of a bunch of new music I will be sharing. It's a tripped out glitchy mid tempo track that has some chopped up singing I did with the vocoder in Ableton. Thanks for all the love and support!
