//Hey, everyone. I know I’ve been very absent and I don’t really have much of an excuse for it. However, because of it, I’ve decided to put my blog on hiatus. Right now, I can’t get my head around writing. Its not that I don’t have muse, its something else I can’t really explain. So, for now I’m going to take a break without having to worry about letting anyone down. It is unfair of my writing partners to leave them waiting for so long, so I’m sorry. Hopefully, I’ll come back at some point, but right now I need to look out for myself. I’ll miss all of you!

Uh-oh, she knew that look. There wasn’t any way she could get out of that situation, was there? The padawan gulped nervously as she looked down at the floor, trying to avoid her Master’s furious gaze.

“There are no bodies to hide, I swear!” Not that this was any better, but still… “My lightsaber got stolen. I swear I didn’t see who did it!”

The last time it happened, she managed to hide it from him, she even got help from old Master Sinube… But now she couldn’t possibly hide it from him. She knew how much her Master lectured her about ‘your lightsaber is you life’ and how much this irritated him.

“Your lightsaber--!” he cut himself off, closing his eyes and letting out an aggravated sigh. Wow, he really felt like Obi-Wan now. He couldn’t even remember how many times he’d lost his own ‘saber, more than his master had known about, that’s for sure. Logically, he couldn’t really be too mad at her without being a hypocrite, especially since she did come to him about it

“How did you lose it?” he asked, forcing his tone to be calm. 

On the other hand, he was absolutely furious that she had lost her lightsaber. With the war going on made it even worse than any time he had ever lost his own!

This was one of the moments where he wished, much more dearly than usual, that he was able to properly glare and frown. Instead, he was left with staring out from behind a perpetually blank mask. While his form was enough to instill fear into most with just the mere mention of him, it did nothing to show his daughter how disappointed he was. And putting his hands on his hips would be ... Regardless. He could even say he was angry or even surprised after he thought about it for only a moment.

He really should have seen that she would stowaway on his ship, especially after he told her not to.

"Do you think you should be?" he asked, pointedly.

Vader's helmet head tilted to one side, red-eyed visor staring coldly. He had his arms crossed over the control panel over his chest. "You are brave," he noted. "And foolish. Do you really think you can defy me?" He would never admit it to anyone, but he was grudgingly impressed with her defiance. Almost anyone else he'd ever met since being stuck in his life support suit simply oozed fear and hardly ever went against him, even if would end in their death regardless.

“Okay.” Considering Grogu was a child and Din was unmarried, he wasn’t in a position to go around giving anyone tried and tested advice about how to handle their family, but if the man’s life didn’t feature patricide or divorce, then clearly he wasn’t handling things that badly. And if he did end up eviscerated by his family, well, it would be inconvenient to find some other Jedi to talk with about Grogu, but he’d figure something out.

One thing Din knew he wasn’t going to do, however, was get in the middle of whatever mess the Jedi had fallen into. Din knew far too many women capable of handing his ass to him to voluntarily put himself in that kind of danger.

Busy as he’d been with looking out for his covert over the years, Din seldom knew the names of powerful political figures no matter what the controlling government was, but he didn’t need to know names to understand what it meant to be Purged. For all that the Mandalorians and Jedi had been great enemies once, it seemed pointless to continue on with that kind of feud when both of them were so close to being wiped out.

Besides, Grogu was like them, and that meant that Din couldn’t hate them.

“Has he had any luck?” An astromech didn’t seem like the best companion for any kind of hunt, but that was Din’s own prejudice talking. “With finding others?”

But he wanted to know about the school, too, and the jungle it was hidden in. Was it somewhere safe? Did the Jedi now follow the same kind of rules that his covert did?

“Some,” he answered with a shrug. Most of the surviving Jedi that he’d known about where willing to help, as far as he knew, but then those were also the same Jedi that were willing to risk breaking their cover to fight the Empire. Who knew how many others had managed to survive and keep themselves hidden all this time. “There are some that are a bit hesitant about starting a new temple after what happened or even embraced life outside of being a Jedi and don’t necessarily want to go back.”

He was of the latter, honestly, but he’d never adhered very strictly to the code to begin with. 

Anakin shrugged again, not really having any actual answers. Maybe he should contact Luke? It’s been a while, hasn’t it? “I don’t know. It’s a weird time after everything that happened. But, hey, if its what Luke wants to do.”

“I just want to know why it has to be in a jungle. Why not just find one of the ancient temples and take it back? Maybe that’s too much space and it would echo too much.”

She had barely slept, staying close to him from the moment they had gotten him onto the ship and into medic. There was still a disbelief she felt, the idea that this all was some fabricated dream she had come up with herself. Her eyes stayed steady on him, worry etched across her features as though she were ready to do just about anything that was asked of her.

“Ani-” she breathed in, her hand falling onto the bed where he was now. “There’s nowhere else for me to go than to be right here with you, but you need to rest, alright?”

His gaze fell on the hand that was resting on the bed beside him. Unbidden, thoughts rushed through his mind: she won’t touch him. she’s afraid to touch him. she hated him. why was she here? why won’t she--? Forcefully, he shoved those thoughts in a box, the same box he always used to hide his thoughts and feelings from his Master. 

He schooled his features into something cool and detached, or at least as well as he could after ten years hiding under a mask. In reality, his expression showed fear and hurt tied up in a grimace as he moved to face the ceiling. “I am perfectly operational,” he said in a blank voice, even as he made no move to get up.

"What else am I supposed to do, then, Master?" he grumbled, plopping down on the ground, practically falling down as it was difficult to lower himself gently when his hands were bound together. The two of them had gotten placed in the same cell after they'd been captured. Which was definitely a choice you could make. Weren't prisoners supposed to be separated? Why did they keep getting put together?

Not that Anakin was going to complain. But, still, wasn't it basically his duty to cause the most annoyance possible for daring to capture them? "I'm all ears for any other ideas."

Anakin narrowed his eyes suspiciously, trying to adopt the look Obi-Wan always gave him when he had done stupid shit as a padawan and then didn't want to tell him or had to because he'd gotten arrested. "I have never been calm a day in my life, Ahsoka. If you wanted calm, you should've gone to Obi-Wan. Or Rex. Now what did you do and how many bodies are we going to need to hide afterwards?"

Anakin stared down at the two broken, smoldering pieces of machine that had met an unfortunate end by way of lightsaber just for innocently making a noise. It wasn't its' fault that he was a bit jumpy at the moment. Though it really shouldn't have jump scared him when they were trying to prove they could be trusted with stealth missions.

"I think we needed that."

"It's just a scratch!" Anakin insisted, trying to subtly straighten up, accidentally pulling on the wounds hidden under his tunic. It was true, at least, that the evidence of the battle that couldn't be covered up by clothes where all healing scratches, even if the only visible skin was his face, neck, and left hand. "It's nothing, I promise."

//Vacation starts tomorrow! I have several replies queued up, but I am bringing my laptop and will try to work on more when I can! When I get back, I’ll try and work on getting caught up on all of my replies. I’m sorry for being so slow lately.

//Update! I’m still alive! Though a bit crisper than before ... My family has gone back to where they came from, so I have a couple days to finish my classes and do some replies before my vacation. Laptop will be coming with me, but who knows if I’ll even have time to even try during that time. I’ll be trying to get replies and asks done, for once, and put them in my queue, so wish me luck!

//I know I’m super slow as to not even really here most days, but just so everyone knows, I have family over this week, as well as having to work on my final projects for school around that, and then after that I’m going on vacation. I’m going to have my laptop with me, but replies are going to be even slower than usual. I swear I’m not trying to be slow on a normal basis, but my energy level is not very high recently. I’ll try and fix that after my vacation, but  ….

The 501st was on leave, or at least as well as they could be this far away from Coruscant. Anakin had stumbled upon what looked to be a local festival, complete with rides and games and stalls selling all kinds of things. He had gleefully charged forward to investigate, followed by several squads of his men.

Towards one edge of the festival, there were several pins containing livestock, most just for petting or for show, but there was one with several pony's tied in a circle around a pole. He almost vibrated with excitement, running towards them, acting just like the other kids that were doing the same, only with parents following them instead of various clones, most of which had broken off to go exploring.

He blinked, turning his head to look over at the one standing next to him. He smiled sheepishly, glancing around to make sure a specific someone wasn't within earshot. "I won't tell Rex if you don't."
