āThe world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,Ā but because of those who look on and do nothing.ā
Give a man a gun, heāll rob a bank. Give a man a bank, heāll rob the world.
she was careful to approach him. after all it has been awhile since Ā they have seen each other. Ā she knew he would understand Ā but she also knew that one or two visits in the prison would not make up for what he has for her, for them, Ā for the world. Ā and what she did not wish to admit, Ā she was s c a r e d of him. of both of them. - hello, stranger. ready to changeĀ the world?
Youād think after all this time that Elliotās mind would slip through the prison bars. But in reality he managed to keep his head level. Even if that meant creating this safe world for himself while he was on the inside. But every now and then heās reminded of where he really is.Ā His eyes glance through the glass at his sister. He doesnāt say anything but a frail smile curls in the corner of his mouth. His bottom lip -- trembled a little as a few scared tears filled his eyes. I already have.

āOnly speak when spoken to.ā
āWho were you on the phone with?ā
āWhy are you wearing perfume/cologne?ā
āYouāve been seeing someone else. Tell me who.ā
āIāll let you come out when you start behaving!ā
āYou can sleep when I say so.ā
āDo I have to put you on a leash?ā
āI donāt care if theyāre your family, you are not talk to them.ā
āBe on your best behavior and I might even buy you a gift.ā
āWho was that?ā
āYouāre not seeing your friends today.ā
āI want to know about this person youāve been talking to.ā
Surfer Rosa Ā | Ā 1988
This apparition that follows Elliot around is nothing more then theĀ side of himself he wants to so desperately believe doesnāt exist. HisĀ father never was violent, and so demanding to the point where hisĀ own life was in danger. He was forgetting the kindness and the loveĀ that his father had showed him beforeĀ he passed. If he were alive todayĀ heād want to make sure Elliot was safe and that he was doing theĀ right thing. But these voices sound so convincing. They tell him whatĀ he doesnāt want to hearĀ but he has no choice. He has to listen. ThatĀ part of him was the only one capable of getting things done. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Of completelyĀ changing the world. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āWhen I was a kid I fell out of a window. Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā DamagedĀ my head pretty severely. To Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā the point where I couldnāt recognize my Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā own sister. But that happened a long time Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ago. Things keep getting worse and worse.ā At this point Elliot would try anything to get some sort of relief. He was tired of the blackouts, the loss of time, the forgetting. There were plenty of clues leading to his brain injury as the main cause of his issues. But deep down there was some psychological pain that only fed the illness.
She knew about the accident but the illness being this bad, it was probably unrelated to that accident. It had been too long ago. She was more worried it couldāve been a tumor or something. And if it was, that was something she could deal with sans-meds. She nodded and wrote a prescription for an MRI and handed it to him. Then wrote a prescription for meds but only temporary, at least until they get the MRIās results. She handed that one out to him as well.
ā First weāll have them do the MRI, to see if thereās no tumor or anything of that nature going on in your brain, cause if itās physical, it can be treated, and healed. If it is indeed a psychological problem only, then we will try stronger medication. These meds are going to shut the voices up and allow you to get some good, restful sleep, until we get the MRIās results anyway. Just see my secretary when you get out of here, sheāll schedule an MRI with the private clinic for you. Itāll take much less time toĀ get an appointment that way. And results will come quicker. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. āĀ
she kindly explained, putting her notepad away. Their session was over and there was going to be another one the next day, but she was never throwing him out though. She always followed his schedule. Whenever he was ready to leave he could leave. She never scheduled anyone after Elliot, just in case. She was seeing him pro-bono also, cause she just wanted to help him, he needed help and he knew by now that she wasĀ thereĀ for him.
Elliot never really considered that there could be medically wrong with him. But at this point heād try anything to get some sort of relief. He couldnāt live like this forever. If this doesnāt work heās afraid of what he might do to himself. He doesnāt always trust himself to make the best decision. He leaned in and grabbed the prescriptions from her. He looked over them briefly and nodded his head hesitantly. He didnāt say anything right away. He glanced down at the floor and leaned back against the couch. āThanks. Iāll be alright. I just want to get this over with. Iāll see you tomorrow.ā Elliot got to his feet and hesitated once more. He looked over at her with a blank expression before nodding his head and heading out the door towards the main office where he made his MRI appointment. It was at the end of the week.

H O R R O R . P R O M P T S
āI just got back from the cemetery.ā
āI swear I just saw someone⦠or something looking in my window.ā
āI know I closed the damn closet door, but it keeps opening! Please tell me this is just some kind of joke you keep pulling.ā
āWhatās behind you in these picturesā¦?ā
āApparently like 20 years ago, some girl slaughtered her family in the basement.ā
āI think thereās something about this house that youāre not telling me.ā
āI keep hearing noises coming from the atticā¦ā
āI know what I saw, and whatever is in the basement⦠itās not human!ā
āI didnāt have time to see what it was! I just got the hell out of there!ā
āWhose grave were you bringing flowers toā¦?ā
āThe electricity guy said there was absolutely nothing wrong ā and yet, the lights always flicker on at 2am. Explain that to me?ā
āWhy donāt you spend the night in that house āaloneā, then try to convince me that you donāt believe in ghosts.ā
āY-you donāt understand, he didnāt have a face!ā
āI had a dream that I killed you.ā
āAh, yes⦠the room youāre staying in. Itās a paranormal hot spot, apparently.ā
āI keep hearing whispers at night⦠I-I canāt sleep!ā
āThere was something else in there with me, Iām not going back to that house.ā
āCome on, itās just an urban legendā¦ā
āAre you trying to tell me Iāve been sleeping in a dead girlās room!?ā
āI keep getting the feeling that someone is following me.ā
āDonāt panic⦠but I think thereās someone else in the house.ā
āI can still feel her/his ghost, and itās killing meā¦ā
āThereās something growling in the basement⦠could you, uh⦠check it out for me?ā
āCan you just⦠can you please check the closet?ā
āP-please⦠put the knife down.ā
āI bought this haunted ring on eBay!ā
āNo, no, no ā run!ā
āI didnāt forward one of those freaky chain letters and now I keep hearing the laughter of children coming from my hallways at night.ā
āThe dead are all around usā¦ā
āSheās dead! Sheās dead and yet I keep seeing her, everywhere!ā
āThereās something breathing under the bedā¦ā
āYou canāt tell me you donāt believe in ghosts after all weāve been through.ā
āI saw something I wasnāt supposed to see, something⦠that wasnāt supposed to be here.ā
āMaybe an exorcism is in orderā¦?ā
āI woke up, and it was j-just⦠staring at me.ā
āHe was there, then like a second later he literally vanished! I saw it happen!ā
āI like the ghosts here⦠they keep me company.ā
āYou canāt honestly tell me youāre in love with a dead girl.ā
āWasnāt someone murdered in this house? Why are we here?ā
āIf dying means being with him/her, kill me. Iād be happier that way.ā
āGhosts arenāt real. You need help.ā
āā¦what do you mean we didnāt talk last night? You came over, you were here.ā
āYou saw something you werenāt supposed to see. And now⦠now you know what has to be done.ā
āIām pretty sure my toasterās haunted.ā
āWhatās wrong with you? You look like youāve seen a ghost.ā
āDonāt! Donāt you dare open that door!ā
āI visited his/her grave for the first time todayā¦ā
āSomething terrible happened here, didnāt it?ā
āWh-why do you have a knifeā¦?ā
āYouāre all bloody, what happened!?ā
āYou know that book from The Evil Dead? Yeah, well⦠Iām pretty sure we found something pretty damn similar to it.ā
āYouāre bleedingā¦ā
āHow can you not see itā¦? Iām dead! Iāve been dead for years!ā
āIāve always wanted to see you choking on your own blood.ā
āIām sorry, Iām busy Friday with the⦠funeral and all.ā
āIāll never forget the sound of his screaming.ā
āFrom the looks of it, the afterlife is a lot more fun than this.ā
āLegend has it that you can still hear her crying for her lover in the dead of night.ā
āI want to be dead, too.ā
āWell donāt you look lovely, all covered in blood.ā
āWhoa ā wait! Please donāt go down there⦠letās just get out of here, please?ā
āYou played with a Ouija board!?ā
āMe and some friends played with a Ouija board the other night⦠and things have been a little strange since then.ā
āThereās so much negative energy in this house⦠do you know if someone died here?ā
āYouāre always hanging out in cemeteries⦠and yeah, itās kinda creepy.ā
āThey just donāt believe like they used toā¦ā
āI will haunt you until the end of time.ā
Iām sorry I havenāt been honest with you. I had to cope with my own reality so I figured Iād bring you with me. From now on Iām going to be completely honest, no more secrets. His sentence was over. Those few months felt like years to him, mostly due to the fact that he blocked out most of it. But he was still glad to be out of there. While he was incarcerated he had contacted Darlene who helped him find a new place for him when he got out. It was a shitty apartment in the opposite side of town. It was the safest thing for him now. He couldnāt thank Darlene enough for doing this for him. Elliot took a long drag from his cigarette as he stood outside of his apartment building. He flicked the butt of the cigarette onto the ground and stepped on it. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pair of keys. He buzzedĀ himself in| and headed up the stairs to his room. He found it, 302. He unlocked the door and stepped inside. He looked around, noticing a few open boxes and bags of his belongings scattered around. As he stepped into the living area he noticed a body sitting on the couch, facing away from him. Panic struck him. āHey!ā
(( I think about how much of a bitch Elliotās mom is A LOT. ))
āThe world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil,Ā but because of those who look on and do nothing.ā
