WHEN IN GUILIN,CHINA - DAY 0NE & TWO
Going back to the time when I first heard about this trip, I felt very excited and eager to get away, to escape from reality for awhile. It was a two-week of a study and leisure trip with other fellow wanderers which my sister and I thought were at the same age as ours. However, it was not much of a big deal.
Traveling to Guilin, in the Mainland China was more of a waiting game for there are no direct flight to it so we had connecting flights. Departing for NAIA Terminal 2 at 8 in the morning and arrived Xiamen at 11am. Next flight is at 5:30pm. So we spent most of the day at the airport.
We arrived at around 10pm so our day one has already ended. Before putting the lights off, they gave in our room keys and allowance card, which I likey so much because it is like a credit card where you can swipe it around the campus for food, grocery, and material stuff.
Today, we woke up at 7 and had our breakfast downstairs. After that, we had to an hour before our orientation and a presentation about Guangxi local folk arts. Our first class later on with singing. Also, we’re staying in a dormotel = dorm + hotel in a huge campus. They change our towels and give toiletries everyday! Okay. I started to love the place already! I don’t know but it felt safe, it was full of students, it was clean, people around were independent and everything was so easy access. Wished we could have like this here in the Philippines.

It was charming to get a glimpse of Guilin at night. Getting around the night market that includes retail street shops, cafes and stalls selling different kinds of fruits: watermelon, dragon fruit, plums, longan, durian, and jackfruit. Then, we went back home.
