I have to say that “warm gentle glow emanating from the shell of a turtle” is without a doubt my favorite genre of lamp

Tide - Massimiliano Alioto , 2008.
Italian , b. 1972 -

apparently I post on here so infrequently that when I do it sends out a notification to ppl like DOM IS BACK!!!!! ???
I can’t say how much I hate that all my formative online communities have fragmented into a thousand segregated pieces. when I was younger I really loved the transience of online life, I loved the romanticism of chance connections, the possibility of forging a momentarily deep connection with someone on the other side of the planet and then having it disappear forever. but now everyone’s either genuinely disappeared or splintered across like 20 different sites, and everyone’s posts are hidden by opaque algorithms designed solely to promote “engagement”, and it just feels so laborious to try and maintain even a handful of meaningful connections now. it’s fine, I’m fine, it’s just all a bit depressing
