Dear users,
Every single one of us has a different story, everyday we go through life wondering if today will be our last.but as scary as it sounds we've come to accept this fate. I'm a highschool senior with a 4.0, a pretty face, and on the track to go to college debt free, but yet I am no different than the homeless people who use of the streets, I know how they feel and that once they had a dream just like me. The thing we can't see is that there is more to us than our vices, we are human too, we have feelings and thoughts and we sleep and dream just like everyone else. Your addiction does not define who you are. As addicts we yearn for connection, someone just anyone who will pull us out of this nightmare we're trapped in, but real connection does not come from a chemistry lab, it comes from our souls. The only person who can save you is yourself. Addiction is giving up everything for one thing but recovery is giving up one thing for everything. So continue living, live for the others who have walked this deadly road before you, live for those who can't.
Sincerely,
A recovered addict.
