i’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time on this because i kept getting caught in insomniac loops. i have about thirty drafts saved as different layers of the same document and i’m sure there are probably at least five earlier drafts that are better because i just got way too obsessive and worked on it too long and thought about it too much but anyway basically what i did was take one of anna’s poems and rearrange it into a new poem without losing or adding a single letter or period or comma or whathaveyou. i kept breaking up words and rearranging them and like i said, there are literally 30+ drafts of this because i’ve been playing with it off and on for about two weeks so this last version is a little hard to read maybe from all the disassembling and rearranging but i kind of like it that way and i’m also way too tired of staring at this fucking screen to clean it up right now so i’ll just leave it like it is. i might post some earlier drafts later just for the hell of it because it might be interesting to see the process in various stages maybe? i don’t know. i definitely think there were earlier versions that were probably better but i kept ending up with like, one fucking letter that had no home and next thing i knew, i’d taken the entire thing apart again and there were letters everywhere and it just became this ridiculous overworked mess but i also really enjoyed doing it and really like the idea of it so maybe next time i can maybe do the same thing but without the teeth-clenched, sandpaper-eyed, manic obsession. because that would be nice.
