Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy & Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro IN ONE PIECE LIVE ACTION SEASON 2
I love how the live action makes it clear that deep down all the Straw Hats are in love with each other on some kind of metaphysical plane of multiversal platonicism and that it doesn’t matter which ship you like you’re going to get a little bit of all of them because they wouldn’t choose anyone over the others. They’re one big whole.
dragon sex repost if this gets taken down again we kill tumblr
Pre-Creation Victor was so full of excitement and enthusiasm and Post-Creation Victor was exhausted, paranoid, and depressed as if he was going through postpartum
imo people calling the creature Adam instead of acknowledging the scene where the creature is born and his first word when he sees his maker’s face is: “Victor?” and then he touches his own chest and says, “Victor?” again and his maker says, “Yes! Of course you are, of course you are!” with real excitement (and their shared first and fleeting taste of love for each other, when neither of them were monsters yet) are missing pieces of the intention of the story and the significance of them sharing a first name as well as a last name.
the constant question of “Frankenstein, or Frankenstein’s monster?” turns into “Victor Frankenstein, or Victor Frankenstein?” (giving the creature back his humanity in a sense but also cursing him with the sins and patterns of his father the way anyone can be cursed with their father’s blood, and at the final moment of his maker’s life he says his maker’s name with love again, and if his name is also Victor by extension he is giving love back to himself through his forgiveness for his maker and erasing what would have been a curse to replace it with self-acceptance and something warmer, like the sunlight) Basically, what I’m saying is, we should call him Junior,

CITY OF ANGELS
Donald Trump has authorized 2,000 National Guard troops to be used against protesters, whose goal was to put a stop to ICE's kidnapping raids.
Being undocumented is not a criminal offense in the United States of America.
Quoting this from the ACLU in an issue brief from 2010, since there are a lot of people in the comments mouthing off about that last sentence:
The act of being present in the United States in violation of the immigration laws is not, standing alone, a crime. While federal immigration law does criminalize some actions that may be related to undocumented presence in the United States, undocumented presence alone is not a violation of federal criminal law. Thus, many believe that the term “illegal alien,” which may suggest a criminal violation, is inaccurate or misleading. Entering the United States without being inspected and admitted, i.e., illegal entry, is a misdemeanor or can be a felony, depending on the circumstances. 8 U.S.C. § 1325. But many undocumented immigrants do not enter the United States illegally. They enter legally but overstay, work without authorization, drop out of school or violate the conditions of their visas in some other way. Current estimates are that approximately 45% of undocumented immigrants did not enter illegally. See Pew Hispanic Center, Modes of Entry for the Unauthorized Migrant Population [May 22, 2006]. Undocumented presence in the United States is only criminally punishable if it occurs after an individual was previously formally removed from the United States and then returned without permission. 8 U.S.C. § 1326 (any individual previously “deported or removed” who “enters, attempts to enter, or is at any time found in” the United States without authorization may be punished by imprisonment up to two years). Mere undocumented presence in the United States alone, however, in the absence of a previous removal order and unauthorized reentry, is not a crime under federal law.
Even now, under Trump's second administration, immigration is a CIVIL matter, not a criminal one. Immigration violations are often at most misdemeanors that should be dealt with peacefully, not with brute force. And if these pro-ICE people are truly so about prosecuting crime, then they should take into account that blowing this kind of civil matter up like this is only wasting time and resources that could be set aside for serious crimes. Quoting the ACLU again --
Use of federal law enforcement resources to target undocumented immigrants for criminal prosecutions may have serious consequences for public safety. The greater focus on criminal violations of immigration laws has led to fewer resources to investigate and prosecute dangerous crimes. At the same time that the Bush administration dramatically increased federal prosecutions for illegal entry and reentry of the United States, the government’s prosecution of gun trafficking, public corruption, organized crime and white-collar crime declined. See Solomon Moore, “Study Shows Sharp Rise in Latino Federal Convicts,” New York Times (Feb. 18, 2009).
Yeah. So these people are advocating the persecution of undocumented immigrants who are less likely to commit crimes than documented Americans (and yes, there is plenty of data from both the FBI and the Census Bureau confirming this) at the expense of dealing with real federal crimes. Why am I not surprised that people like this are aligned with Donald Trump?
AITA for not telling my fiancé I know he’s queer?
I 20s (F) have a 20s (M) fiancé, V, and he’s been talking about this terrible secret he cannot tell me and he keeps almost starting to come out and then backing out. The issue is V and I were raised together by his parents, and my surrogate 40s (M) father and (now deceased) surrogate mother arranged for our marriage back when we were both children. They thought it was the best for us and at the time we were too young to realize the implications and had no reason to reject to the match. When we were teenagers our mother was on her deathbed and she told us again that she wished for us to marry, and of course we both agreed. However, V is also best friends with a 20s (M) guy called H, and they were nearly inseparable as boys and teens. They also went to university together and shared an apartment but V had to come home due to family reasons. Lately he’s been going out all day and coming home at night hours later. He insists that he’s fine and that we all leave him alone and not worry for him, but I think he and H have been sneaking around. He even delayed our wedding day by arranging a trip to go to England alone with H. It’s exhausting for all of us and I think I should just tell V I know and support him and that we can call off the marriage, but I’m not sure that’s the best course of action? I’m completely fine with not marrying him - he always felt more like a brother to me anyway - but I worry it might come off wrong. The worst part is he’s really beating himself up about it. He’s so guilty it’s beginning to take a toll on his health. I don’t care if he has a boyfriend I just want him to be happy.
EDIT: nvm he built an 8ft creature in his dorm
so it turns out that the ship stuck in the arctic that appears in guillermo del toro's upcoming frankenstein movie is worked on by matthew betts, hms terror's #1 groupie, historical consultant to the terror (2018), and author of THAT book, you know the one. insane, incredible, we keep winning!
I'd like to introduce to everyone this horrid thing I created about a year ago but haven't shown many people yet (probably for the best).
This is Baby. AKA The Monster. AKA Sight Tremendous and Abhorred, AKA Vile Insect, AKA A Thing Such As Even Dante Could Not Have Conceived, etc, etc. It's made from bits of scrap fabric I scrounged from various sources and is roughly the size of a human toddler. Its design is based on Mary Shelly's original descriptions of Frankenstein's creature.
But that's not all! Behold!
You can dissect this little abomination to reveal a full set of crocheted, knitted, and scrap fabric organs, all hand-stitched by yours truly!
It has a heart, stomach, lungs, liver, small and large intestine, kidneys, bladder, and, of course, a brain! So it can ponder the horrors of its own existence!
I used this pattern by Less Than Three for the heart. I ended up felting it because I screwed up most of the stitches (I was relatively new to crochet at the time). The result was a bit of a blobby mess, but oh well.
So yeah. This thing lives in my house now (my family hates it). I have yet to reap the full consequences of my hubris.
Frankenstein AU where the Creature, upon returning to seek terrible vengeance on Victor after realizing the tragic existence he's been forced into, takes a few days extra to actually, you know, observe Victor and see what he's like, to learn how best to enact his revenge. And he comes to the conclusion that, "Actually, I don't need to do anything, this idiot's going to ruin his own life without any outside interference, and I kinda wanna see how he does it."
Victor then proceeds to continue with his previously demonstrated levels of making good life choices, while now also constantly looking over his shoulder for his Creation and having the vapors at every little thing because oh noes, it's The Monster come back to Get Him-!!!
The Creature: (watching all this unfold through binoculars like it's a soap opera while sneaking in to help himself to Victor's larder and library when he feels like it, and also occasionally hiding small but vital objects, like Victor's keys or shaving blade, in weird spots in the house) Wow, it really does take an incredibly smart man to be quite this stupid, doesn't it?
“There is something at work in my soul, which I do not understand.”
I've had this vision in my mind for ages so I finally decided to take a stab at drawing a cover for one of my favourite novels⚡
