Maine looked up at the familiar house, smiling a little to herself as a feeling of being home rose up inside her. How many times had she stood on these steps, in the rain, the snow, the sun, waiting to come inside, or following behind Dylan, or riding Zane’s back. It was the place she had gone before she had Di, before she had a family. The Hades had become her family in a way, and coming back to that just felt…good.
She ran her finger through her hair, waiting for Dyl to get the damn lock to turn so the both of them could go in. Despite how comfortable she felt she was…nervous. She was playing with fire, coming back to all these memories, being with Dylan again. But Mai was never one to be cautious when it came to risks, and now was no exception.
When Dylan finally opened the door, he held it for Mai. It surprised him at first. Not once had he ever held the door open for her (when she was in a perfectly fine condition), he had always just walked in. Strange. As he wondered why he would do that, Dylan closed the door after her, never walking forward but staying near the door, watching her actions intently. "Do you remember where everything is or do I have to give you a tour?" He half joked. "I understand if I have to show you around again..."
