Viewing Platforms are installed on defunct parking sign posts located outside of a semi-opaque, fenced perimeter. The fence surrounds a demolition site within the campus of Southern Methodist University. The platforms quietly offer a reactivation and repurposing of discarded urban materials. They are meant to encourage self-conscious participation through the act of looking: the spectacle of demolition, transitional spaces, the sculpting of an absence within urban space, working bodies, boundary.
