Date with Dylan [Misty x Dylan]
Misty left the castle after talking with Nibs and headed to Dylan’s cove. She didn’t know if he would be there or home with Sam but she figured she could try anyway. She walked inside and called out his name.
Dylan had set up the cove and decorated it nice and simply. He had made dinner for them and set up a nice romantic dinner. He was lighting the candles and was dressed semi-casually for when she arrived. When she didn’t arrive however, he just left everything out and went to bed.
He woke up the next morning and he started to get his things ready to go so he could go and practice his archery. When he heard his name being called he was in the middle of changing. Dylan turned his attention to Misty before picking out a shirt to put on. “Yeah? I am here.”
She saw the dinner he left still out before hearing him in what sounded like his room so she followed his voice. “Hey, sorry about last night. I should of called.” She said before looking around his room. “You don’t stay with Sam?”
“No? Why would I? I have been living here ever since we split up.” He explains. “It’s fine, I already know you went on a date with Ashton instead that is fine.”
“How do you know that?” She asked. “I live with Nibs? It’s not weird to stay with someone you have children with.”
“Oh please Misty you are queen. Everything is told to everyone, besides I walked by the ship and saw you two going inside. I asked around the ship and it seemed that you two were on a nice dinner date which is fine. And yeah it is weird to stay with someone you have kids with if you want to try to be on your own and not have to worry about them clouding your mind. Sam hasn’t come asking for me to try to work things out with him so why bother?”
“Why would you do that?” She asked not understanding why Dylan would go out of his way to do that. “We aren’t together, I understand you could have been looking for me but it is a little strange you asked around. I see Nibs doing that.” She sighed. “Yeah I guess.”
“I ask about everything not just you Misty.” He responds before shaking his head. “I was looking for you to see if everything went okay between you and NIbs since I know you went and talked to him, I was worried about you that is all. If you don’t want me to worry then I won’t.” He explains.
“I didn’t say that, it was just very...I don’t know. The only person that has done that for me is Nibs. I mean Ryan and Finn did it too but different reasons. I was just wondering.”
“Well I did tell you that I do care for you and I did mean that. I wouldn’t have made a whole dinner and done all that if I just thought of this as some joke you know.” He responds with a sgih.
“I know and I’m sorry, it looked really nice.” She said moving over to him. She took his hand in hers, “I really am sorry.”
“It’s okay, I knew that I wasn’t the only one that was after your affections and trying to win you over. “So then did you just come here to say sorry to me?” He asks wondering why she chose to come and see him.
“Well I wanted to see if you wanted to have breakfast with me?” She asked.
“Yeah that sounds good. I could always use some breakfast before I go out and go practice my archery for the day.” He responds with a shrug of his shoulders before realizing the t-shirt he grabbed had a hole so he grabbed another one.
Misty took the shirt that had the hole and shook her head, “We should eat here, that way I can clean this place up a little bit and fix your shirt. You obviously need help and I have always liked cleaning.” She teased him.
“Are you sure? I wouldn’t want to trouble you or anything.” He explains before watching a she took the shirt with the hole in it. Dylan let out a sigh as he didn’t find a shirt he liked. “I will just shower and worry about my shirt later. Is it okay if I take a shower before we eat?” He asks wanting to make sure that she was okay with it. “I mean you can join me if you like, but I don’t know if you would want to.”
“I don’t mind you are living like my teenage son so I should clean it for you.” She said before hearing his words. “Uh...you mean join you in the shower?”
“Living like your teenage son?” He raised a brow with a small laugh. “Yeah I mean join me in the shower. Surely you have showered with someone before.” The male teases before removing his pants and leaving him in just his boxers.
“Yeah Stiles and TJ’s rooms are always a mess and if we didn’t have maids it would be worse.” She laughed smiling at the thought of her children. “I mean yeah but…” Showers tended to lead to sex and maybe she wasn’t ready for that step with Dylan. “I’m not dirty and I don’t have clean clothes to change into afterward so...I will just have to wait.”
“Alright suit yourself.” He responds before heading into the bathroom with some new clothes and going to take a shower.
She nodded before starting to stick up his shirt and cleaning his room.
Dylan had finished his shower and emerged with a towel wrapped securely around his waist. “So, what would you like for breakfast then?” He asks while looking at the other.
Misty had finished cleaning the room relatively quickly before seeing him coming out of the shower. She looked at his abs before looking away and shrugging, “I can make anything.”
The male could see her checking out his abs and he just smiled. “Would you want to cook something together?” He asks in curiosity.
“Yeah sure, what did you have in mind?” She asked finishing folding a shirt before turning attention to him.
“I am not too picky when it comes to eating food so what are some of your favorite breakfast foods? I usually eat bacon and sausage with some toast.” He explains.
“Well that certainly isn’t breakfast.” She laughed softly. “You can make the bacon and sausage but I can make some pancakes. You can eat something other than a type of meat.” She teased.
“Okay that works. I will go and get changed really quick.” He responds before going to the bedroom and putting on his sweatpants before drying off his hair. The male then made his way back to the kitchen where Misty was and pulled out all the ingredients that they might need.
Misty nodded before heading to the kitchen and gathering what she needed to make breakfast. She saw him walking into the kitchen and smiled softly, “You cook without a shirt on?”
“I live here alone so I walk around without my clothes a lot of the time. The only reason I am wearing sweatpants is because you are here and I am pretty sure you wouldn’t feel comfortable with me walking around naked so…”
“You know you can get injuries right? Like you could get burned?” She asked mixing the batter. “If that’s what you want to do go ahead.”
“Yeah I could get burned but I can heal you know.” He responds before taking out a pan and starting to cook up the sausage and bacon. “Besides you could get injuries doing anything if you really think about it.”
“Yeah that’s true.” She shrugged before she started focusing on cooking and moved around Dylan to use the stove.
Dylan wasn’t really sure if they should be talking during the time while they cook. He was never really good at this kind of thing and of course he wanted to show that he cared about Misty but he had no idea how to go about doing it. “So then how was your day yesterday?”
“It was fine. Nothing extremely interesting or exciting happened. I mean Nibs turned off his emotions but he said it will be different than the last time so there’s that. But he also said he would go back to being my best friend and turning off emotions doesn’t really do that.” She said.
“Why did he turn off his emotions? And well if anyone can get them back on, we both know that it would be you that could get him to turn them on rather easily. You know, it still doesn’t make sense to me, the whole leaving him going on dates with other people. I thought you two were happy?”
“Yeah well last time I had to almost die for him to turn them back on so I’m not exactly looking forward to that. At all. And I thought you and Sam were happy, guess looks can be deceiving.”
“Sam and I were happy before everything happened but after it did, nothing has ever been the same. I fought for him a lot but he didn’t even fight for me, he just let me go. I thought that you fight for those you love and if he doesn’t fight for me then wouldn’t that mean he doesn’t love me?”
“Maybe he is tired. Look I’m not Sam’s biggest fan, but he did have that whole thing with Nibs and what happened with that and then dealing with the repercussions of you being mad at him and then you turned off your emotions and let’s say I was married to you, the moment you with Jack I would have given up. Especially after the person you became.”
“Tired of what? I became who I am now because he chose to hurt me Misty. Every action has a consequence. He promised he would be there for me and I would be there for him. He lied to me after I told him how that made me feel. I gave him a second chance and he still managed to fuck it up. He told me that I could rely on him for a lot of personal things and he just left me behind for the next best thing. Even before my emotions turned off he was never around. He never tried to woo me or earn back my trust or love, he just expected it to be handed to him without any consequences or repercussions.”
“Could you imagine Nibs telling you that he loved you, that you were the only one for him and that he would never cheat on you with someone who you knew was attracted to him? Then a few days after your wedding, you start struggling with these issues from the mainland, different personalities all mixed in your head trying to break free. Nibs promising to be there but instead he was going and screwing the one person he promised he didn’t have feelings for? Seeing and hearing him tell them that he loves them and would leave you for them if you couldn’t get better? You put forth all this effort to try to get him to remember you and what happened. Try to win back their love but somehow they seem different now, there will always be those lingering feelings for someone who they had their first child with even if they don’t admit it, you know it there. You can feel it...and you are so used to them lying you just know they are falling back into that old habit of lying just so they don’t get in trouble.“
“Then someone else comes along and shows you that you don’t have to change. They appreciate you for who you are and they tell you that they love you as you are and that you don’t have to change just to appease them. They give you something special to them and tell you to hold onto it. They make you feel worth it and wanted and loved. They treat you as you wished Nibs did you. You think that this is what it is like to feel true love from someone. Then they disappear and come back married expecting a kid with someone else. They love you but can’t be with you because of some stupid pureblood rule. All the while, Nibs hasn’t bothered to check in on you or know where you are going at night. Doesn’t ask you on dates or plan anything together. I am tired of being the one that was initiating everything meaningful in our relationship”
“I fight for him like NIbs fights for you but I can only take so much Misty. I can only fight for so long before I have to move on. But there is part of me that would go back to him if he showed that effort and actually wanted me back.”
“Yeah I do know exactly how that feels. My fiancé got another woman pregnant and I couldn’t even give birth to my first two children. And then someone who I thought was my friend raped me. You aren’t perfect either Dylan so maybe you should cut Sam some slack and just forgive him. You make me things so difficult. They don’t have to be. If I can forgive you what gives you the right to not forgive Sam.”
“You aren't still fighting for that fiance Misty. You found a soulmate who would fight to the ends of the earth for you. You always have the heart to forgive people yet I never quite understand it. I don't think I ever will. I have cut him more than enough slack before Misty. You have so many people fighting for you it would just be nice if even once the favor was returned. That's literally all I ask for. I don't need it to be constant I just need it once because my worth and self esteem relied on what he thought of me and my effort and his lack of one just makes me think I am not worth it. It better to not feel anything because then I don't have to feel guilty about disappointing people or having to worry about if someone cares or wants me.”
“Well tell him that. Just that. Not about what he didn’t do just say what you need. You are just like Nibs you both think we are able to read minds. If you need something you aren’t getting then say it.”
“I tell him and he says he is tired and doesn't have time or energy to fight for me. He just...he always has acted like I am not worth it. I just want someone to want me, that is all. It shouldn't be this hard.”
“You are worth it but maybe you fell in love with someone who doesn’t like fighting for people. You have accept that. That’s who you love.” She shrugged.
“Why have you kept fighting for me?” He asks while looking over at her. “You have forgiven some horrible things that I have done. How do you do it?”
“I don’t know. I have always been a forgiving person. I don’t think about it. I just do. I just see the good in people.”
“But why? Doesn't that just allow you to be hurt more in the future?” He asks while looking at the other before serving up the bacon and sausages on a plate.
“I guess but I think that’s why I am happy. Because I refuse to let you or anyone else that has tried to ruin my life. I could have turned my emotions off a long time ago but then I wouldn’t feel the joy of being at Hope’s wedding, when the twins were born, when I adopted Stiles, and just TJ in general. I have experienced love that way outweighs the pain.”
“I can't help but to admire your outlook on life. I can only start small and go from there. I want to be there for my kids but I don't think I would be that good of a father.” He lets out a sigh as he went over and watched her make the pancakes.
“You would be a great father. Or at least I think so.” She blushed softly as she started putting the pancakes on a plate.
“I don't think so, I am still young Misty. I haven't experienced a lot of things much less enough to be a proper parent. They get one shot at this and I can't fuck it up.”
“You already have children. And I am actually younger than you. Well I mean not really but my age when I stopped aging is younger than yours. But anyway, my daughter is way younger than you and has two children.”
“Wait I thought you were around Nibs age? I am only 16…” He responds before shrugging, “Isn't she a teenager? Also, wasn't that family not planned?”
“Nibs is 17, I am 16. Part of the whole reason I liked him when we first met was because I had a thing for older guys, things have certainly changed.” She laughed before nodding. “She is but you have been on the island longer so you are still older than her. Her first child wasn’t planned but unlike you she didn’t run away from it. Stiles is your son too you know.”
Dylan shakes his head, “No, Stiles is Nibs and Sam's kid. He isn't my son and I am not taking his father's place.” He responds. “Why is it that Nibs never stops fighting for you?”
“Well he’s my son. I am incredibly proud of him because you kind of treat him like shit and yet he doesn’t hold any ill feelings towards you. You are kind of like Jack in the sense where you really don’t need kids and yet you have one of the sweetest ones and you treat them like trash.” She said before shrugging. “I don’t know ask him.”
“How could I treat him poorly if I never see him?” He asks while looking at her. Walking over he wrapped his arms around her waist before resting his head against her shoulder.
“Exactly, and when you do see him you are a dick. You don’t ask him if he’s okay or if he is over Liam.” She said before feeling him wrapping his arms around her. “Dylan…”
“I never see him. That is the thing. He is never around when I am. He ran away from home a long time ago and hasn't come back.” He responds before hearing her say his name. “Yes?”
“Yeah I wonder why, you guys didn’t even come looking for him. He’s at the castle and you could see him any day.” She said before removing his hands from her waist. “Please don’t touch me like that. We should have a clean breakfast.”
“I heard you did that all the time when you and Nibs were friends. I haven't had physical affection whether it be a hug or cuddle in a long time. I just miss it is all.” He responds before going over and sitting down.
Misty moved over with him and bent down to kiss him softly. “There physical affection.” She said before moving to grab the plates.
Dylan felt her kiss him and he had a rather confused expression on his face before he could feel his cheeks turning pink. He shook it off before grabbing the silverware and bringing it to the table as well.
Misty set the plates down before looking at Dylan. “You know Dylan I want to show you that you can be happy. That you should let yourself be happy. Because you are a good person. Do you mind me showing you that?”
“How would you be able to do that?” He asks before taking a seat at the table.
“I can bite you and show you a completely different world. I can show you how I see you.”
Dylan nodded his head when she said that she could show him how she sees him. “O-Okay. Sure. You can do that.”
[Misty]
Misty bent down and licked his neck before biting down on it and her eyes flashed multiple colors as she pulled away. She smiled as the cove changed into something more homely and the sound of children’s laughter could be heard as the kids ran down the stairs and into the kitchen. Misty moved as they ran to Dylan yelling “Daddy!”. She looked down at her hand to see the wedding ring for her and Dylan. She sat down and started making her plate.
Dylan watched as the cove transformed before his eyes as he saw and heard children running down the stairs. He saw them calling him ‘daddy’ and he saw the wedding ring around his finger as well as the one that was on Misty’s. The male leaned down and picked up both of the kids as he couldn’t help but smile. It was the first time in a long time that he had felt happy and that was something that took him slightly off guard. The kids wanted to drag him off to show him their toys and he told them that he would be there in a minute. Walking over to Misty, he tried to understand what he was feeling. “You see me and you happy with a future family together?” He asks, “Married and happy?”
“Hm? I mean...I see you married and happy. I just happened to be here...I don’t know if it’s us or it’s you and Sam. But you do deserve this happiness.” She said before hearing the kids. “You should go. See if you’re a good dad.” She smiled teasin
“These aren’t the wedding rings that Sam and I wore and that isn’t the ring from you and Nibs’. The kids don’t look like Sophie or Ken. They don’t even look like the ones from you and Nibs. They look like us…I...could you show me? I don’t really know how to play with kids..”
“Yeah I noticed.” She smiled before taking his hand and leading him to the kids. She moved to sit down and watched the kids play with their toys before they handed Dylan and her one. “Just let go Dylan. Have fun.” She said.
Dylan followed her as he watched the kids playing with the toys. It felt strange since he didn’t know what to do. When she handed him a toy he tried to figure out how it worked exactly before the daughter took it and showed him. He nodded his head before thanking her and then they just played with the toys.
Misty played with them before pulling away slowly so Dylan could play with the kids. He was so adorable trying to figure everything out and she smiled as she moved to stand up. She looked at her hand to see the ring on her finger. It was certainly strange not to have Nibs’ ring on but it was just a vision.
Dylan was enjoying his time with the kids and he noticed Misty getting up and looking at the ring on her finger. Is something wrong? He asks while looking at her as the littlest girl got up and walked over to Misty and tugged on her dress to get her attention. “Momma up.” She made grabby hands at Misty and Dylan could only smile as he saw it.
No, everything is fine. She smiled before picking up their daughter and holding her. She kissed the girl’s cheek softly as she smiled at Dylan.
Dylan watched as the little girl let her head fall against Misty’s shoulder as she yawned. “Someone seems rather tired.” He teases as the little girl rubbed her eyes. The little boy wanted to play with the trains and Dylan watched as the little boy motioned for Misty to come join them and play trains with them.
“I’m going to put her to bed.” She smiled before heading to Dylan’s bedroom. Once their the little girl disappeared. She knew she was using a lot of her energy but she didn’t want to end the vision for Dylan just yet. She sighed before heading back out to where they were.
When Misty went back to the room to put their little girl to sleep. He couldn’t help but to think about how happy this was making him...how happy Misty was making him. Maybe he shouldn’t think about fighting for Sam anymore. Maybe this was a sign that he should really put his all into this and give it a shot with Misty. Seeing Misty coming out of the bedroom, he watched as the little boy ran over to her and showed her the train, “mommy look look choo choo”.
Misty bent down to look at his train and nodded before tickling the small boy and picking him up. She took him back to where Dylan was and sat down to play with his train.
Dylan smiled as he watched Misty playing with their little boy. “I would like to think that this would be how things turned out had I met you before I met Sam.” He looks over at Misty as he could feel his heart growing warmer ever so slightly.
She looked over at him and smiled as she nodded, “Yeah, I think if me and Nibs had just stayed friends this could be our life.” She replied.
Dylan watched as the little boy disappeared and everything faded around them. “So then, can you be honest with me...are you really actually leaving Nibs.”
Misty noticed everything disappear and sighed as she leaned back against the couch. “I don’t know Dylan. I don’t. I wish I could say no or give you a definite answer but I love him and that stops me from being able to answer.”
“Are you okay? You seem tired?” He asks while noticing the change. “You can love more than one person you know. Besides, you shouldn’t let one person hold you back or keep you from being happy.”
“I’m fine. I’m just sleepy.” She said before shaking her head. “You don’t love me. You like how I make you feel. That’s not love, it’s friendship.”
“You used to be friends with Nibs and you thought it was friendship at first too though.” He responds while looking at the other.
Misty started to close her eyes as she nodded, “You’re right. I’m sure we would be together if no one else got involved. Maybe.” She said.
“What do you mean? You left him didn’t you? To try new things? To get away? You won’t be able to fully know what you want if you are always being held back you know.”
All her energy was drained so she just nodded, “Okay yeah...I don’t know what you want me to say.” She said looking at him.
“I don’t know...did you want some blood for energy? You seem tired.” He responds.
“No I’m fine, I am just going to sleep for a second okay?” She said. “Look Dylan if you care about me then that’s fine. It’s like I told Nibs, do what you want. Stop asking for permission.”
“Yeah okay then I will do that.” He responds before picking her up and carrying her to the bed and tucking her in so that she could sleep for a bit. “You stay here and sleep I will clean stuff up okay?” Dylan explains before kissing her forehead and then leaving her to sleep.
Misty felt Dylan picking her up before placing her in the bed. She was going to tell him she was fine and could help clean things up but she felt herself falling asleep.
Dylan went back out into the kitchen and starting cleaning up and packing the food together to put in the fridge for later. Once he finished, he did the dishes and then went to the living room and sat in the chair for a while.
She woke up a while later and rubbed her eyes as she stood up. She went to the living room once she saw Dylan there. “Hey sorry about that.” She said sitting down on the couch.
Dylan looks up at her with a smile as he adjusted his reading glasses. “It's okay. You were tired.” He responds before closing the book in his lap and placing it in the end table.
“Yeah I’m not used to all that power yet.” She smiled bringing her knees up to her chest and hugging her legs.
“So...was there anything else you would like to do? I was thinking of showing you something. Would you like to come with me and see it?”
“Sure, and then I should head home. To get some blood and check on the kids.” She said nodding.
“Okay sounds good. Come with me. I want to take you somewhere I haven't taken anyone anywhere else.” He explains while standing up and offering his hand for her to take.
Misty lowered her legs and took his hand before standing up. “Lead the way.” She smiled.
He leads her to the small cove that he would go when he wanted to be alone. It was personalized to match his taste as well as be a nice place to just be able to relax and get away. “I don’t bring anyone here...or I haven’t. I figure that if you want a place where you can go without having to worry about being bothered by anyone, this place is protected by magic so...you are more than welcome to come here whenever you like.”
She walked into the cove and looked around as she listened to his words, “It’s amazing Dylan.” She said in awe before turning to face him. “Thank you for this. It’s beautiful. I’m sure I’ll run here when I want to get away.” She laughed softly.
“Okay that sounds good to me. I didn’t mean to keep you for too long since I know you wanted to see the kids and all so um...you can go if you want. I just you know...wanted to share this with you.” He explains with a small smile.
Misty smiled back at him and moved over to him to kiss his cheek. “Thank you Dylan. This was pretty sweet.” She smiled.
“You are welcome. I guess I will see you around Misty.” He smiles.
