"Yeah, someone's got to keep them in line," he said, even as he knew it wasn't necessary; they really were good kids, but they were at a Spring Fling with money to burn, and Cage knew taht they were definitely burning it. Dylan would have had some luck trying to win a prize with them, even if it was just one of those little consolation prizes that people gave out. "I will," he said with a shake of his head, "although it probably involves one or more of them bribing someone or charming some poor schmuck into taking it easy on them." And that, they had gotten from their father. Cage couldn't even deny it. "Right, so… full slices of bread and watered down lemonade, then?" he shot back with a playful roll of his eyes, tapping his pockets to make sure that he had his wallet, keys and phone as usual, before turning his attention back over to Dylan again. "C'mon. You're going to buy me something extra sugary to drink," he stepped out from around the table, knowing he was going to be the one paying, but… he could still pretend to make demands.

"Me? Keeping them in line? If anything, they'll spend even more money. Wouldn't be their money that they're spending but hey," Dylan said with a chuckle, knowing that if they ended up hanging out with the two boys just so they could win something, they'd be the one paying for most of them and told the two to use their money on something else. "Ha! You know if I do that, they'll judge, right? I think that tactic only worked when you're a child. Or technically still a child." Or if they had a child, that might work too. Unfortunately, neither of those scenarios apply to them. But maybe they could give that strategy a try anyway. "Nah. Peanut butter sandwich and ice tea," they said with a straight face, watching Cage tapping his pockets for something. They then raised their eyebrows at the sudden demand, standing up to follow Cage out of the tent. "Hold on. I don't remember agreeing to that. But I suppose I should. You gotta save your money for the kids. I could get you a sugary drink this time," they shrugged and gave a mischievous grin. "Water with an insane amount of sugar sound good?"

Sylvia heard the salon door open, assuming it was a client of one of the other stylists as her lunch break was coming up. However, she turned back around toward the door upon hearing Dylan and immediately waved in their direction. They were a client of hers, and life long friend, who had no appointment that afternoon. Hearing Dylan's idea of heading out to Flour Co for some donuts, she paused to think for a minute. "If you can wait ike fifteen minutes for me. I just need to clean from my last appointment but I'm free for the next.." Sylvia pulled her phone out of her pocket in order to check her schedule. "I have just over an hour and a half before I need to come back to prep for my next client."

"I can wait fifteen minutes. No problem," Dylan replied with a nod. Since Sylvia more or less just agreed to go along, they definitely wouldn't mind waiting a bit. They then gave a grin and a thumbs up when Sylvia told them that she only had a limited time before she needed to return to work. "It's donuts. I don't think we'll need an hour and a half. Unless there's a line because I heard that there might be free donuts for the little kids. I could hear wrong though," they gave a small shrug and pointed at one of the empty chairs. "I'll wait here."

"You should be hanging out with Shawn and Colton, I think they blew through a hundred dollars each that they've saved up, but they actually won some pretty cool shit, so I can't even be mad at them." Not to mention the fact that if his teenaged sons wanted to spend their hard earned money on an event that gave back to the community for a good cause… well, there were definitely worse things that a parent could be dealing with. "Maybe if you ask them really, really nicely, they'll share with you," he teased, shooting them a lopsided smile. "A piece of wo-- you know what? You're disowned," he shot back with a snorting laugh, handing the papers off to one of his workers with a smile and a nod, letting them know that they were all caught up, and turning his attention back to Dylan. "I see, so you want to sabotage my business, make me go under, and then… are you going to explain to my kids why they have to eat bread crusts and water, because you hate me so much?"

"Did you just tell me to hang out with teenage boys?" Dylan asked with raised eyebrows, amused. "Or actually did you just suggest those two should hang out with me?" they laughed. Much as they wouldn't mind hanging out with their nephews, those boys probably would want to hang out with their friends instead. "Just tell Shawn or Colton to message me what's the trick when you see them later." They let out a laugh when Cage said they were disowned then reacting by taking a seat on a nearby empty chair. "Disowned. Got it. I guess I'm staying. There's no way you'll get rid of me now," they said with a grin. They waited for Cage to finish handing the paper over to his workers then gave him a shrug. "Who else will hate you as much as I do? Besides, your kids will be fine. The rest of us will make sure they have more than bread crusts and water. You though... Maybe you'll get an allowance or something."

"Some of them are really dedicated." Sure, some of the kids lagged behind a little, not quite cut out for the fast-paced dances, but doing it for enjoyment. While others really put their whole little hearts into it, never missing a beat. She tried her best to group them together but it was harder with the younger age groups. They'd all done amazing up on stage in front of a surprisingly big crowd. Kenzie eyed the cupcake, biting her lip. "You sure?" She didn't want to steal from her younger sibling but she could really use the sugar hit. "I'll buy you another one."

"I can definitely see that," they nodded. Some of the parents were as dedicated, if some of the feedback they heard they gave their kids were any indication. Some other parents were just happy to see their kids performing. "Yep. Very sure. I wouldn't have offered if I'm not," they said, holding the cupcake towards their sister for her to take. "Don't worry about it. I'm suddenly feeling like churros. The cupcakes can wait. Unless you don't want churros…"

Dylan walked into ShearSins and immediately looked around to find Sylvia. There were people inside the salon and they weren't there to get a haircut. Not that day anyway. Finally seeing their friend, they gave a wave in greeting before walking over. "Hey. Are you busy right now? I was on my way to Flour & co. because it's Donut Day, which I only just realized five minutes ago. Then I walked past the door and I figured maybe I can drag you along, if you're not busy. What do you think?"

So far, Spring Fling had been a success. Creekside's booth had sold the majority of their premade signs, and Cage had a fat stack of orders that he would have to finish up and work through over the next few days and the week ahead, and with a lot of that money going straight back into the town... he was feeling pretty good about his contribution. It may not be a perfect system, and they might still need to put up some major donations... but it was a start, and it would help. He had just finished organizing his stack of orders at the front table in his tent when a shadow fell over it and he glanced up, ready to put on his best customer service face and voice. "Hey, welcome in, can I help... oh, you," he broke into a grin instead when he saw Dylan standing across from him, flopping rather unceremoniously back down into his chair, happy to take the break. "What are you up to? I charge double for family members, before you ask."

"Me," Dylan said with a grin the moment Cage noticed that it wasn't a new customer that came to the tent. "I was just walking around, try some of the games, bought tickets for the raffle, see if I'd win anything," they shrugged. "Knowing my luck with that kind of thing, I shouldn't be bothered." Meaning, they didn't win anything. But hey if their lack of luck contributed to the town being able to stop the Benefactor from getting that land, they'd be just fine with it. "So here I am on my next adventure of the day, bothering you. Especially if you're going to charge me double for a piece of wood," they joked. They weren't in need of a sign at the moment, and Cage (and Creekside) actually made awesome signs. But they didn't need to tell him that. Not at the moment anyway. "I think I'll get my signs somewhere else that'll give me a discount and then tell everyone it's a better made sign."

Sabrina had been hanging out by the stage for maybe an hour or so, taking in some of the performances taking place, a cold drink in her hand. When the current act finished, she whooped and cheered, a bright smile on her face. "Loved that," she said with a soft laugh, turning to the person beside her. "The question is, what next?" She knew she couldn't stay here all day, but she was having a good go of it.

Dylan had only been at the event for a short time that day, having to finish work first and it took them longer than expected. First thing they decided to check was the performances, that would definitely got them out of work mode. They gave a cheer as well after the last performance then let out a chuckle at the question. "Honestly, anything. It would give me a reason to stay here longer. How about one of the games? Or I think I saw some people painting rocks. How's your art skill?"

spring fling - open

Wrangling children in a studio was one thing, wrangling them out in public was entirely another. Kenzie suddenly didn't envy teachers on field-trips. At least all of the kids she was keeping track of were in a specific costume and that had helped. But the performance had gone smoothly, so she really couldn't complain, and the kids parents had all the collected them to go enjoy the rest of the festival.

Kenzie's hand came up, running through her hair. "Okay, that was slightly more draining that I had expected." She mused, head tilting. "I think I need a little sweet treat."

"I don't envy you," Dylan commented after having just witnessed their sister tried to keep track on a bunch of little kids until the parents arrived. "The dance looked a lot less chaotic than I expected which I shouldn't be surprised because they're your students but I am surprised," they gave a shrug and a grin. At the mention of sweet treat, they held up the one cupcake they got earlier. "Cupcake? You can have this one then we can walk around to find more sweet treats. You definitely deserve that after wrangling that many kids."
