❛ Oh, is that a challenge? ❜

Even without counting the millennia spent slumbering in the Throne of Heroes — it wasn’t like he’d been in any position to enjoy them anyway — being so awe-struck at his age was likely a little on the unseemly side. Luckily, embarrassment was practically foreign to Iskandar however old he was, nor was he actually thinking very much. Or at all. Upon meeting his hero his brain had all but shut down in the excitement of hero worship, his mouth picking up the slack by providing an endless outpouring of praise.
Which, now that he was forced to rewind and consider his words, may have slid ever so slightly into something more boastful in an attempt to impress. They had, after all both been summoned as Servants of the same class, a few innocent comparisons being made was unavoidable.
“A challenge,” he rumbled, crossing his arms over his broad chest head tilting as his brain sparked back to life and he turned the idea over in his mind. Judging by his growing grin, it quickly gained traction, the thought of measuring himself against a man he bore such admiration.
“A challenge!” Affirmatively this time, his nod final, elated grin threatening to split his face in half. “But how will the winner be decided? Speed alone is a poor measure of skill and obstacles mean little to us now. Nothing but the greatest of tests will do!”
