Kingdom b/w Others out 5.31 http://bit.ly/PikJdD from the debut LP "Eora" out July 28th (vinyl + digital) www.timenoplace.com Castratii is. Created and constructed from one Australian summer to the next, the creation of Eora persisted through the extremities of the Australian bush, heat, humidity, cold, and rain to create a singular document vast and mysterious as the landscape it was created for. Eora (the original Aboriginal name for Sydney), the debut album from the cryptic Sydney-based collective is a lucid, pulsing journey that takes place mostly through the darkness. The tension and foreboding atmospheres looming cohesively tie together Castratii's first long-player of witchy electronic dreamgaze. The album is also dynamic: sounding heavy one moment, channeling a doomy drone and pulse into the concise framework of electronic pop of the more industrial persuasion, while at other times, they make it easy for you to get lost in their dreamy, sustaining ambient sprawl. Inspired by their remote surroundings and paralleling it to our own individual desolation caused by the internal dialogue within all of us, Eora aims to sonically and lyrically map this wilderness. "Kingdom", the album's first single, amalgamates much of what makes Eora so intriguing. Arpeggiating synths lock horns with driving fuzz underneath the collision of dual (male/female) vocals and sturdy 909 drums. Castratii is. http://bit.ly/MIm8Gb
