Naia - Drenchen Gelfling Full-Body Puppet - Jim Henson Company 70th Anniversary Auction on Julien's Auctions, sold for $16,000 - Lot 108
"A full-body puppet of Naia (performed by Beccy Henderson and voiced by Hannah John-Kamen), a Gelfling of the Drenchen Clan, who serves as a major supporting character in the prequel series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (Netflix, 2019). Puppet sculpted by Matt Rose.
Naia enters the story after her twin brother, Gurjin, disappears. Unbeknownst to her, Gurjin allowed himself to be captured by the Skeksis in order for Rian to escape The Castle of the Crystal. When Naia finally tracks down Rian, she intends to kidnap him and exchange him to the Skeksis for Gurjin. Rian convinces Naia to dreamfast with him in order to show her what happened to Gurjin, which she reluctantly agrees to before ultimately believing him after she sees it for herself. Naia is able then to free Gurjin from The Castle of the Crystal, and they both dreamfast with Rian again. Only this time, they are all transported to the Dream Space by Aughra, along with other characters such as Brea and Deet. It is here that Aughra tasks them all with saving their dying world by fighting back against the Skeksis. Afterwards, Naia and Gurjin take it upon themselves to inform the other Gelfling clans of the need for fight and resistance. When Rian and company need reinforcements for the final showdown between the Skeksis in the Second Battle of Stone-in-the-Wood, all of the other clans appear to fight beside them, including Naia with other members of the Drenchen Clan.
This a full-body version of the Naia puppet, which includes her entire torso as well as a pair of legs. Like all Gelflings in the Drenchen clan, Naia features blue and green skin tones, identifiable bumps on her forehead, and fin-like scalloped ears. She is dressed in a wool hooded cloak with a painted Drenchen clan emblem on the back, which she is seen in her first appearance in the fourth episode of the series, “The First Thing I Remember is Fire.”
The puppet's head is made of sculpted and hand-painted foam latex with donated human hair punched into it. Its elaborate costume is comprised of a silk-blend, two-layered tunic with surface embroidery, metallic threading, beading, trim detail underneath, and belted with leather. The layers of the tunic are inner-padded for shaping. Its legs are covered in Jersey-style leggings and cotton socks that are painted. Built inside of the puppet's head is a metal plate with two screws backed with magnets and affixed to the glass taxidermy eyes. Naia's face was fully animatronic and controlled via remote control. The body of the puppet is an articulated pod with foam arms and legs with inner wooden dowels to create bone structures. The arms of the puppets were created to be foam latex up to the elbow and then have the ability to be Velcro'd on and off for easy replacement, as damage was a regular occurrence because of prop usage or rod replacement.
This puppet comes posed and mounted on a stand custom-built by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, featuring an identifying emblem.

Snape's physical description makes perfect sense if you look at Celtic/Irish genetics, right?
We always talk about Rowling using Snape's "black, tunnel-like eyes" as a literary device for his Occlumency, which is true. But from a purely genetic standpoint, how does a pale, white British man from the Midlands end up with hair and eyes that dark?
The answer is likely in his mother's side of the family: the Prince bloodline.
1. The "Black Irish" phenotype in Ireland and parts of the Celtic regions, there is a very famous genetic contrast.
While many associate Irish people exclusively with red hair, there is a massive sub-population known historically as the "Black Irish." These are people with extremely pale, fair skin, but coal-black hair, heavy eyebrows, and deep, dark brown eyes that look pitch black unless hit by direct sunlight.
Snape and his mother are the textbook definition of this.
2. Eileen's name is the biggest clue Rowling rarely picks names at random.
"Eileen" is the anglicized version of the pure Gaelic/Irish name Eibhlin. Given that Cokeworth is located in the Midlands (an industrial hub that historically attracted thousands of Irish migrant workers during the industrial eras), it makes perfect sense that the Prince family carried these strong Celtic roots.
3. He is a Prince through and through in the books, it's explicitly stated that Severus looks exactly like his mother-the long face, the heavy brows, the bleak demeanor. Apparently he completely wiped out his Muggle father's traits with the exception of the hooked nose and inherited the full, raw Black Irish genetics from Eileen.
So to me, Snape isn't just a gothic character design; he and his mom are ethnically Celtic/Irish, and his appearance perfectly fits the biology of that heritage.
There, I said so. 😎😋
remake of this classic

New pinned post !
I just wanted to organize my own tags. Here they are
And my usual intro information:
All I draw and write is severitus. I have an ongoing severitus slow burn on Ao3 titled What a Series! and it spans from summer of fourth book to the sixth book
https://archiveofourown.org/series/4953886
I hate JKR and generative AI; trans rights are human rights, pick up a pencil
I don’t do NSFW and I’m not interested in shipping
My ask box is closed here so send me asks to do with severitus and my Dogwood AU at @breadzasks !
Okay good dogwood Severus where Harry managed to get out into the backyard when transformed and got mud all over him. Now Sev has to give him a bath and Harry’s wolfy instinct HATES IT and he just stares at Sev with his sad little eyes with Sev is trying to not get soaked. The shower is finished and he gets dried off but hair gets so motherfucking fluffy when he is freshly showered, and it’s adorable
(a series of events inspired by me, giving my dog a shower yesterday)
Brilliant idea, this is my mangled take on it because my eyes glazed over the “good” part of “good dogwood” at first so Snape is irritated as usual . And the Evil One is there too
more gelfs for you
Animatic que acabo de terminar de Snape y los merodeadores 👉👈💕
as a writer, it’s very important that you know this: whenever you tell yourself “this will only be one-chapter-long” that is a lie. your brain is lying to you. it won’t, in fact, be just a short one-shot
You might be aegosexual if...
- you enjoy the idea of sex but don’t want to experience it in real life
- you have sexual fantasies but would never want to be IN THEM and the fantasies don’t involve you
- you enjoy reading erotica/ smut fanfics
- - you enjoy absorbing sexual content but it’s never about yourself
- - you like reading smut in third person but find first person to be a huge turn off. And second person is literally The Worst
- you daydream about sexual situations but the people in the daydreams aren’t yourself (or typically even other real people- but your OCs or fictional characters)
- you find yourself looking at attractive people thinking “yeah they’re hot but I don’t want to DO ANYTHING with them”
- imagining the sensory experience of sex makes you question whether it could really feel good as good as it is in your mind
-writing sex scenes is a lot more uncomfortable reading them, even if creating them in your mind is cool
- you sometimes question if you’re really ace because of the content you like to consume. But this is an acespec identity.
A few years ago there was a person who had cultivated an entire list of acespec identities and lists of common traits. I can no longer find those traits or posts.
SO! This I made this! I’d love for other aego people to add on! And then to add your ideas to the original post.
