Zukaang Week - Day 3 - Soulmates

Raava and the Avatar. The mortal always falls in love. Though Raava is the most powerful light spirit, she watches on each and every cycle as the human is unable resist the person who has been deemed the Avatar’s love.

Vaatu and the Avatar’s love. The former holds agression and vengeance, while the latter holds passion and patience. They contrast completely to the immortal and mortal counterparts, yet they manifest the same. They meet every cycle; they fight, they love, sometimes both.

And then in the end, they lose. Vaatu is sealed away once again, and the Avatar’s love must realize they are second to the mortal half of the Avatar, the cursed soul who prioritizes balance above all, again and again. The Avatar’s love will never be their soulmate.
