Tower of London (1939) directed by Rowland V. Lee is a historical horror drama depicting the rise of Richard III as portrayed by Basil Rathbone. The film also stars Boris Karloff as the menacing executioner Mord along with Barbara O'Neil, Nan Grey, and a young Vincent Price in only his third picture. Interestingly enough, Price would later portray Richard III in the 1962 film production by Roger Corman. Crappy day at the office and I just had to get away from the drama and nonsense. A nice walk in the warm Spring weather and I found myself at a pub enjoying a Hops & Bolts IPL. Tagged by @livingdeadme for a film I love and wish I watched more often. There are lots but this one tops my list. SEVEN SAMURAI (1954) directed by Akira Kurosawa is the story of seven ronin hired by a small farming village for protection from marauders who invade them after each harvest. It's a beautiful tale of bravery, perseverance and loyalty. The reason I don't watch it more often is that it requires an investment of time and attention that I can't always afford. With a running time of 207 minutes and subtitles (my Japanese is rusty), I need to devote the right moment to truly enjoy and appreciate this masterpiece in the way it deserves. #SevenSamurai #AkiraKurosawa #Samurai #JapaneseCinema #SamuraiMovies #SamuraiFilms #SamuraiCinema #CultFilms #CultCinema
