Alright, so back in the day, my girlfriend and I have been on the internet for a decent amount of time. We ere still pretty awful YAOI-LOVING IDIOTS but we knew enough to not suck too terribly.  Well, I don't know what happened but somehow we ended up pretending to be two dudes in a relationship rather than two chicks. I honestly do not know how people believed us, but somehow they did.   We were totally YAOI, she was such a KAWAII UKE >:333!!!

And then we both made DA journals proclaiming our true genders. Everyone was surprised for some reason. /end attempt at contribution

In 6th grade, I made like 10 neopets accounts, friended myself and made a guild, then became everyone in the guild. I told all my middle school friends that had neopets that I was in an exclusive guild and that they weren't allowed in. They all begged me to let them in, so I did, because i knew them irl. Eventually this led to my friend neofriending one of my fake accounts (me pretending to be my neighbor "Melanie") and me telling her mean things about my real self, then her saying mean things about me to myself and then her complaining about "Melanie" to my real self. Then "Melanie" moved to Ohio and quit neopets because my friend took "Melanie's" side and I was pissed.

I forgot about the whole debacle until last year my friend asked me how "Melanie" was doing. Awkward...

CELEBRATORY STORY

I swear I'll stop with these dumb excited posts but in celebration of having awesome followers, I am going to share another story (I have a LOT.)

When I was about fourteen, I discovered DeviantArt. I never posted totally shitty art or anything on there (I didn't and still don't draw) but instead I posted pictures or more often times pages from the Naruto manga.

I was hardcore into Naruto at the time and when I made this DeviantArt account (ArtxIsxAxBlast if you wanna look for a good laugh) was around the time that Tobi was revealed as the Akatsuki leader or some shit like that. My friend actually linked it on Neopets and I was SO DAMN EXCITED that I had to post the pictures on DeviantArt.

Except DA took the pictures down.

So I "ragequit!!!!" because they "tuk down my art!!!"

And we got *~*dial up*~* and I had my brand spanking new ~*~*aol account*~*~ complete with parental controls and all

I would talk to this one girl who would use "lmao" all the time

And I didn't get it

I thought it was some weird misspelt way to say "lame" or "lame-o" or something

So I would always get sad when she used it

Obligatory About Post

I figured I should get this out of the way because if I keep putting it aside, I'm going to end up forgetting to do this altogether.

First off, my name is Kristen! My main tumblr is http://strongtype.tumblr.com! I post a lot of random crap there. I'm into Homestuck, Pokemon, Portal, various animu and mangos, and Doctor Who. And a lot of other stuff I am not going to bore you with.

Enough about me, since this isn't a personal blog, heh. This blog is for stories about things you and/or your friends may have done whenever you first started becoming active on the internet because I'm SURE we all have those ridiculous things we used to do. Whether it be weeaboo-ish, newbish, or completely stupid.

This is really short but.  When I first joined GaiaOnline, it was my first interaction with the internet, or rather other people on it.  Sure I'd played games and looked up stuff, but I'd never talked in a chat or on forums.  Mostly because all the adults around me told me that was bad and "dangerous".

But anywhoo, this was also my first time seeing "lol".  And, I being the brilliant child I was, thought lol was some misspelling of lull.  And meant you were bored.  So I proceeded to post something like "I'm bored lol lol lol lol lol".  I'm honestly not sure when I realized what it meant.  But I'm pretty sure everyone who saw my posts quite possibly lol'd at how dumb I was. fjkds

I guess to kick this off I'll start with one of my own stories

So whenever I was twelve and discovered that you could lie about your age on the internet, I made an account on Neopets proclaiming that I was 76 years old (totally believable, guys.) At the time, I was still subscribed to the Neopets magazine, which came with some custom fonts for the neoboards. So I was thinking "O THIS IS KEWL!!!" and copied a really girly pink looking font from it.

I got on the Neopet boards (on the help board, god knows why) and posted an obnoxious board that read:

"HEY DUS MY FONT LUK CUTE?!?!"

Some people were nice about it, but most had answers like:

"no it's ugly"

"no you're ugly"

"lol you suck at signature making"

Needless to say, my twelve-year-old seventy-six-year-old self was upset. I remember getting off that board crying and deciding I hated everyone on the internet.
