My piece for the @earlyseasonsklzine! I had so much fun writing it and I’m still really happy with how it came out several months later :) which is always a good sign in my book given that usually taking time apart lets me see the issues.

“Why do we have to dress up for a parade?” Pidge complains, tugging their helmet off and tucking it under their arm, scowling.

“Yeah, I’m with Pidge on this one,” Hunk chimes in, retying his headband. “Don’t they want to see us as, y’know, the paladins of Voltron? Wouldn’t it be better to just go in our armour?”

Allura arches a perfectly shaped eyebrow.

“You would shower and then get in your paladin armour again? The ones that you’ve just worn to a mission? And then stand up in front of the main population of a planet, looking sweaty and bothered? Absolutely not.”

“Besides,” Coran says cheerfully, tapping away at a datapad. “For success, you dress to impress!”
