i use krita! i switched over from aseprite because krita handles text and custom brushes so much better

i get the mspaint/flipnote/oekaki look by using tiny canvas sizes and hard pixel brushes. ive been using the flipnot bruskit and flipnot 2 by sabs on itch.io genuinely some of the best $6 ive ever spent. this canvas size is 240x400px (which is the exact size of the 3ds xl top screen :3)

Here's some details and STATS from the Chirin no Suzu tapestry i just did <3

Final size and color pallet: - size: absurd - colors: four tone greyscale, default create-a-pet

Programs used: - Aseprite - Dither Machine by Lunar Labs - Dithering Cheat-Sheet by IsaVII

The Numbers: - brush size: 3 - original file started in september - largest number of layers at once: 15 - final number of layers: 5 - total final unnamed layers: 1 - longest single session: ~ 6hrs. dont do this. - common bg music: Razzmatazz by IDKhow, Mildred by Grim Salvo, and Mama by MCR set to loop for three straight hours Motifs i had to get references for: - domestic goat and wolf teeth - japanese maple leaves - pachliopta aristochiae butterfly - anatomy for several breeds of domestic goats and domestic sheep that i then threw out in favor of jamming japanese sero, maned wolf, and Anime into a blender - SO many different livestock bells. i ended basing mine on various swiss cowbells - a whole day getting lost on the smithsonian digital library looking at tapestry
