Woody knew of Eve from what Adam had told him and he had done his own digging with his helmet, of course. He wanted to know just in case she decided to come and kick his ass. Not like he stood a chance, even with all he knew. It was at least a start. 

He was sitting in his lab, pouring over notes and formulas, seeing if anything was truly making sense to him anymore. After staring for too long, he knew he’d just lose it all. Hearing her speak, he may have jumped but offered a smile at her as he spun around. “Hi Eve. I’ve been well. Uh, I guess stressed would be a word to use for how I’m feeling.” Pausing, he tried to think of other things before asking her, “How have you been? Do you need any help?”

She noticed the surprise, she would have to be better about announcing herself. At least to him. Others she wouldn’t mind scaring the hell out of. Eve nodded at his response as she stepped further into the lab and returned a brief smile. No part of her was willing to hold it for very long.

“I’d suggest trying to relax, but. . .” Who could relax in this place? The only time she was truly relaxed were those couple days when she thought the world was going to end. “I don’t think you want me to answer that. But if you happen to know why they keep me around that would help me.” She felt useless now that Adam was back, her new purpose taken away once again. Eve almost wondered if she was only there to look pretty since they didn’t seem to know what to do with her.

     she has been trying to play nice. to ignore her every desire to scream at adam and attack even if he was numb. eve knew none of it was his fault but it was jealousy-- he seemed to have everything, even someone to love, and it frustrated her to no end. she huffed and wandered, eventually finding woody. while still slightly bitter, she would rather speak to him than anyone else in that hell. 

     there were a lot of things she wanted to ask, all selfish and envious, but she needed to get over this. eve swallowed her own frustration and curiosity despite not wanting to. “hello, woody. how have you been?” it was an awkward attempt at casual conversation, but she was trying.

     As much as Eve hated asking for help, she was utterly bewildered by the text she had received from Zachary. All his texts were strange, but this one had slang she hadn’t read or heard often and didn’t quite know the meaning of. “Uh, excuse me.” Eve looked to the younger lady, assuming she might know. “What does ‘it’s gonna be lit, fam’ mean?”
