Forgot to post this here, but
"Due to my own procrastination and life in general. I won't be able to finish this years Representation Recreation on time.
It's no one's fault but own and I accept that. I WILL finish the remaining 14, just not before the end of the month sadly.
When I first started this challenge, I did so because being Black in America means carrying a lot of weight. At times we're adored, and other times we're demonized. Simply for existing, but through it all, we are still. Black.
Seeing people who look like me in the media I love: anime, cartoons, Marvel, DC, Power Rangers, has always been more than just cool. It gave me a profound sense of pride, honor, and undeniable swagger. Seeing that representation is a huge part of the reason I started drawing in the first place! It was living proof that no matter where you look, we're there. No matter the obstacles or the noise, we exist, we create, and we shine!
I started this challenge to help recreate that exact feeling and share it. So, I am opening this up and encouraging any and everyone to participate in this challenge next year. Let's show the world who inspires us. If you join in, make sure to use #RepresentationRecreation so we can spread the word and see each other's work.
Because just as these characters helped shape me, I want our art to spark that same joy and pride in others, both young and old. 🫶🏾"
If they ever made a Star Trek Discovery video game, what would you want it to be like? Single player or multi-player? 23rd century or 32nd century or both? A completely new story or a game that’s essentially the show? MMO or a linear story?
All of the ideas in the reblog are great!

I’m here for it

Oooh 32nd century! Single-player RPG. Michael's time as courier with lots of quests for clues of the Burn and Discovery would be soooo fun. Romance building with Book. Maybe with flash back missions to her being in the 23rd century.
I’d play the heck out of this!
Vulcans arrange marriages for their kids from a young age, so do we think Michael would have had a match made after she was adopted? Given that she was dealing with constant death threats just living there, I think not. But do we think being the only kid without a match was weird and isolating for her? Maybe a contributing factor in her reticence towards relationships that lead to Ash seemingly being her first serious partner
I definitely don’t think she had any match made for her. Amanda was likely more so tolerated than accepted amongst the Vulcan, so she wouldn’t have any pull. As for Sarak, I kinda see it playing out 1 of 2 ways:
1. He couldn’t find anyone willing to marry her and so he told her to just focus on her studies
2. He did find someone, but didn’t approve of the match - not good enough for his daughter - but instead of just saying that, he told her there were no suitors or that she was pass the age of getting betrothed …and told her she needed to just focus on her studies.
But I do imagine there had to be at least one Vulcan boy that was at least curious about Michael.

I truly can’t imagine any other actor doing Michael Burnham more justice than Sonequa Martin-Green
Her performance of Michael’s conflicting internal monologues, especially when her Vulcan upbringing and Human emotions clash, is remarkable. The way she balances these two objectives alone is incredible and her performance is beautifully fluid.
One of the most incredible things about her performance is Michael’s micro expressions and her ocular acting. It’s such a treat to be able to physically see the character think and process information and emotions, and it takes a talented actor to pull it off without seeming cartoonish or forced. Sonequa does this BEAUTIFULLY.
She manages to perform the most minuscule and subtle nuances of emotion and immediately jump to an intensity that could set screens on fire. Her performance agility and her ability to jump between these incredibly different tones without coming off as corny or unnatural is something to be praised. Her performance of Michael Burnham feels genuine and rooted in reality, which is hard to do on a show so removed from our reality in both visuals, language, and circumstance. She gets through the Treknobabble and makes it look easy, and it becomes less watching Sonequa and more simply watching MICHAEL. I shouldn’t be surprised at all, as a long time fan of TWD. Her performance as Sasha is captivating and she steals the show EVERY DAMN TIME!!!!
In short: Miss Martin-Green I tip my hat to you and am so awed by your work ❤️
This was absolutely an excuse to give more flowers to my girl, she deserves all of them. And to talk about one of my most favorite characters of all time.

Thinking Disco was going to make Michael and Rayner a canon couple is peak delusion.
Y’all just didn’t like seeing Michael Burnham with a Black man, especially one who wasn’t a model minority.
