Turns out I have more to say.

Daemon barely says anything once he arrives at the dinner. In fact the only people he talks to are Lord Royce, who tries to goad him into admitting he killed Rhea, Laena, who flirts with him, and Rhaenyra. He doesn't address Viserys or Lord Strong or even Rhaenys.

And here's the thing, Daemon is at his most dangerous when he's quiet.

I have already given my opinion on Daemon's planning abilities. Namely that he doesn't have any. He makes spur of the moment decisions and hopes for the best. We see this in the Vale. I think he went there to deal with Rhea, probably to cause an accident that would kill her, but I don't think he would have taken the final blow if she hadn't taunted him. She made him angry and so he made a split second decision that ended with him bashing her head in.

And then he shows up at that wedding and stays quiet. No pea-cocking, as he's usually so fond of doing, no quipping, nothing. Just conversations he forced into until he gets to speak with Rhaenyra. He isn't planning, he's observing. He's got a goal: get to Rhaenyra. How does he do that? Oh, the girl who's been making eyes at him went to the dance floor, where Rhaenyra is. Let's follow her. Spend a few moments flirting, get out, and move down the line.

I think if Cole hadn't been a dramatic asshole, he would have taken her. She wouldn't have fought him and he would have married her as fast as Syrax and Caraxes could have gotten them to Dragonstone.

My darling boy doesn't make plans, but he is one hell of an improvisor and that's what we saw in this episode.
