I used to draw webcomics, now I draw whatever I want (art tag, sketch tag)! I guess the prevalent stuff is Star Wars and Dragon Age now. I play SWTOR on Ebon Hawk. I really like jawas.
I never thought I’d ever care this little about Star Wars. Eventually I’ll make myself a blanket fort of all the best clone wars and old republic and EU and jawas and it’ll be all good again.
Tumblr just sent me an email telling me I got some adult content they’ve helpfully hidden. I really hope it’s that picture I drew of Skadge in 70′s athletic shorts.
I am pretty hyped for The Last Jedi. I feel like I get a little less so every time I see a bunch of dumb tie-in stuff, but the hype rebounds so naturally. I have infinite patience for Star Wars. I lived through the time of variable quality novels and comics!
Also, porgs. I think I might like porgs. I don’t know what they are, but I am ready to write fanfiction about a lost little porg on Tatooine adopted by a nice Jawa couple.

I don’t dislike the basic concept and while I have a handful of specif complaints my main one is that Bioware had several opportunities to throw veteran players a  bone and they just didn’t. They could have given those of us who already have taken all eight classes to fifty something (maybe not the full reward but something), but they did not. Bioware could have given those of us who have all the crafting professions maxed already something, but they did not. Some small acknowledgment that hey you’ve been playing awhile so here’s something shiny as a thank-you for sticking with us would have been nice.
I’m still probably going to participate with at lest one toon (maybe two because I really do want those companion characters) but I can’t see myself doing all 8 classes. Basically I feel that the Legendary Level objectives really kind of screw over veteran players. Right up until that point I view all the objectives as feasible. A fair amount of work sure, but feasible to both veterans and newbies alike. I understand that they wanted to make the highest tier rewards be the hardest to obtain but I think that perhaps reworking them a bit so they are friendlier to veteran players would go a long way to address the concerns people are having.

It’s the whole “whoops, are you still paying us money? Oh gee, well, we’ve got nothing for you long term players, but hasn’t the game been reward enough?” thought that sticks in the craw. I mean, I am kind of looking forward to this event, even though I’ve already been doing the whole “level everything up to 65″ thing long before this as there’s really little else to do when your computer can’t hack the (same old, no new) operations and such. However, with nothing new for the long term players, nor even any recognition that we have been around all this time - certainly no reward for all this hard work we’ve put in for nothing - it does seem like a blatant cash grab. We even have to pay (they’ll be on sale!!) for the new character slots for this?
Veterans are being screwed sans lube, and there’s no two-ways about it.
I’ll probably do this on EH, Harb, and maybe BC (where I have the most slots), but it’s hard not to feel snubbed.
For me it’s not even that I expected better treatment as someone who’s played since beta. Because, having had time to get used to the way the game’s marketed and publicized, I honestly didn’t.
It’s that they played up an incoming “event” for weeks, and the “event” turned out to be “plz guys plz replay the vanilla game with new characters; that’s it that’s the whole event.” No actual new content of any kind. Rewards that are either cosmetic or redundant if you aren’t a new player.Â
Basically I’m getting tired of getting pissed on and having someone call a livestream for thirty minutes to tell me it’s raining, without any sense that there’ll be any new developments in the game that are cool enough to keep tolerating it. And I’m taking it as probably indicative of what to expect from SWtOR in the future.
For me it’s the encouragement to spacebar through the storylines in order to complete the highest levels that’s the worst about this event. That it’s a timed event means they basically want people to disregard the best part of leveling. I’ve barely played in the last few months because of the dearth of new content in a game that I’ve got many, many max level characters with the best gear and tons of outfits and decos and achievements. This isn’t going to pull me back beyond maybe leveling up one new character for the bare minimum before my sub runs out.
Even as a credit sink (as if people don’t already have enough mats stored up to level up crafting professions all over again) I don’t see the benefit to the game.
SWTOR Chapter XI spoilers, particularly Female Trooper
This is all in the context of SWTOR story only.
OK, so complicated history with Aric Jorgan. Love him, could not really do the romance. I love all my precious Havoc squad (except maybe Tano Vik, but he’s got talents. Just needs to do the right thing with them, ok?) but Aric’s grumpiness and voice were just perfect for a love interest. Yes, give me extra conversations with him, please. (Love Interest = more conversations primarily. Kissy stuff secondary.)
But Rehn would never, ever date a subordinate. Never. She flirted, sure. A kiss or a quick tumble so long as it didn’t interfere with duties. But when things turned serious, she backed off. No marriage, no commitment, no babies dammit. Her true love is Jonas Balkar. Because he’s completely inaccessible and that’s romantic for Rehn, she of the pure ideals about the Republic and Jedi.
Theron was also inaccessible. And awkward. And prioritized his job. It’s actually worked out that you barely get a few minutes with the person you’re supposedly romancing because I like to imagine their relationship is one where they care, but they don’t actually do more than stolen moments and rambling messages.
Because Jonas Balkar.
But goddamn it, that scene with him. His ”I’ve had a lot of time to think about us. I can give you some time, too.”
He’s just told you stuff about a possible pysch discharge, losing sleep, denial and what he went through because you were officially KIA, but mostly just disappeared. Hooking back up immediately wasn’t the right thing to do, but I was totally prepared for him to take this hard and for this to be a definite “no” to Aric, even though going into this conversation my determination wavered hard. The objections were gone. Rehn’s alliance is a group of people working together, despite them putting her in charge. She’s not his boss.
I loved that it left things open. I want Rehn to change her mind. I want them to get to know each other again.
And then - and then! - at the very end of the chapter, when things look their worst,Â
Rehn: Any last words?
Jorgan: Can that garbage.Â
Jorgan: And... I love you.
I’m guessing it’s the same as the romanced version, but I absolutely adore it’s here. These could be last words. This is how he feels.
So possibly sorry to Theron in the future. Your fling was good, but it isn’t solid. Jorgan is solid. Theron was just because Jonas Balkar was the perfect “Long-Distance Canadian Boyfriend” and you were the replacement because you are long-distance even when you’re right there. And that was part of the appeal.
But an Aric Jorgan who isn’t beholden to you for promotions, who is working with you because he trusts you and not because he has to. With all that history and that really rock solid confidence in each other. This is a romance I like. Granted, they are actually not together! But I finally, finally ship it, I guess.
Unless they stop teasing us with Jonas Balkar, dammit.
(Side note - Luckily I didn’t flirt on the introduction, because evidently the female trooper calls herself his wife no matter what you actually did within the relationship. So :p on that.)
I am rehn.6451 in Gliding Puzzle Guild Wars 2 in case anyone wants to fart around floating with me. Mostly I’m on the evenings and we do event chains or puzzles or hop from boss to boss or sometimes maybe dungeon or fractal because what is this we don’t know NEW GAME.
Ummm, guess I haven’t been on tumblr lately. I’ve barely been playing swtor. Some of us have hopped over to Guild Wars 2 for our other nights. Rehn is a tree now, mostly because I hate that game’s human female bodies so much. But it’s fun. And shiny! And everything is new, unlike swtor, where I’ve been running some of the same content since launch.
I miss swtor ops, even though we do still run twice a week. We’re continually down at least one person and have been 7-manning stuff with me solo tanking, or one of our two amazing healers going solo. I feel like I’ve auditioned half of the allies channel and can’t handle anymore braggadocio jerks who can’t follow directions, do half the numbers they claim without fluffing, or not stand in stupid. I’d a million times rather take someone who is aware of what’s going on in their screen, but isn’t geared and hasn’t even been into an op. But it’s hard to find those people and they may end up joining a big guild if they’re looking.Â
This is a slap in the face on so many levels. I am extremely furious. I literally woke up at 7 in the morning, looked at SWTOR reddit, saw the new post from dulfy, and I woke up in a blind rage. (Rant under the cut)
I think the fact that these are only pixels is why reskinning an exclusive mount is so insulting. Why not just throw some other pixel junk on a rancor and not screw with something people had to work hard and get lucky to get. They’ve even made it pretty clear in the past they wanted to keep exclusive PVE and PVP things exclusive, so a move like this will unsurprisingly cause everyone to doubt what they’ll reskin at a later date.
AND this comes in a pack that has a bunch of new stuff and not shuffled and recolored armor. It’s not needed whatsoever to sell the pack.
I’m less angry about this in particular because a) it was a seriously rare drop and b) there are plenty of terrible players running around with Wings of the Architect because they could run the op 5 levels over the bosses, but the precedent it sets is a terrible one. This is something really worth expressing displeasure over because it can be acted on quickly. Shut this down before it goes live.
It is really tough being patient waiting for the person you’re going to see Star Wars with to get ready so you can meet up and have fun trying to be patient together.
You should do this anyway, but if you want to make sure you’re not just refreshing your own snowball on the Overheated Gift Droid, make sure you have personal debuffs and buff shown. It puts a yellow outline on yours and boy howdy is this useful just in general. But you may never have looked into it if you don’t run stuff in large groups.
