@aileuromania
I am really tired of migraines.
That is all.
I’ve been playing a lot of Baldur’s Gate 3 lately, and do you know what I want? I want Larian Studios and Critical Role to make a game together.
I think I’d die happy if they did that and I played it to completion - and by that I mean I played it finding as many story hooks and outcomes as I could stomach.
Can someone make this happen, please?
Excellent wriggling.

I should probably put this in the Critical Role litterbox blog, but I want to thank ‘em on my higher follower wall.
I won’t link her Tumblr as she never posts here, but she’s one of my oldest online friends, from waaaaay back in my WoW days. For some reason she still talks to me, I haven’t driven her off yet, and she understands my crap probably better than anyone at this point.
She met me as a male Draenei shaman, so for her my obsession with a certain purple tiefling was probably no surprise at all. When Youtooz announced the animated Mighty Nein set of limited edition plushies, she apparently ordered me the Molly.
He arrived today, and whilst I still fall asleep at all kinds of inopportune and weird times, I now have squishy and non-bitey company.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. 💜 I’ll get this bracelet to you sometime, I swear.
Adventures in Healthcare: Haematology Update
Another appointment, another increase in hydroxyurea dosage. At least he’s prescribed me some medication for my migraines as I’m not going to see my GP until the end of July.
Still, no phlebotomy, so my numbers are remaining stupid for now.
I also just decided that if I ever end up on full chemotherapy or the hydroxyurea dose gets to the point I start losing hair again, I’m going to get a t-shirt made that has a little drawn pic of a theatre mask with the words,
“My wig’s good, I’m Bolaire”
beneath it.
Because I am still going to laugh at this shitstorm.
Adventures in Healthcare: Haemotology Edition
A month ago my haematologist told me that whilst my haematocrit was way higher than it should be, I didn’t need to book a phlebotomy as I was resuming the hydroxyurea.
Yesterday I had bloodwork done in preparation for my haematology appointment on Monday, and I was able to check it today.
Guess whose haematocrit number is still way higher than it should be?
*facedesk*
It’s lower than it was, in fairness, but it’s still blood vessel burstingly high.
No wonder I’m still falling asleep for a couple of hours through the day. One day my numbers might balance again, but today is not that day.
This is why Pride is not just a party. It's a joyful celebration, but it's also a pointed and colourful two-finger salute to a world that stood back whilst so many of us died. And we'll never go quietly, never again.
Hey don't cry, okay? We just found Attenborough’s long-beaked echidna, a species thought to be extinct for the past 60 years.
We confirm the ‘rediscovery’ of Attenborough’s long-beaked echidna (Zaglossus attenboroughi), one of only five modern egg-laying mammals and
So Sir David Attenborough was already a well known naturalist(the docementary kind, not the nudist kind) in 1961 to have an animal named after him, then lived 60 years thinking the animal went extinct and now lives to see evidence of it not being extinct. That is both incredibly heartwarming and a very Elf-core thing of him to do. He truly is an archdruid
I forgot what a cesspool fandoms can be. Ye gods and little fishies.
Analyse the characters, postulate on where the story might go, and for the love of everything, leave the players* alone.
If you don’t agree with what they’re doing and feel you can’t trust them, shut up and trust the DM (director, editor, etc). Or you know what? You could always stop engaging with that piece of media entirely. No one wants to hear about your hate boner for the minority person of the week you’ve fixated on (in Critical Role it seems it’s always one of the women, the coloured people, or the openly queer ones being attacked. Funny how the white men** can do the same things and be cheered on as being brave).
I’m glad I’m not famous, or even well known. I couldn’t deal with being driven offline. Or insane. Or further into my self hate shell.
*This could be actors, writers, authors, etc, but in this case it’s Critical Role, and ye gods are people being critical in the bad way.
**Unless you’re the DM of the new campaign and not Matt Mercer. Then you’re going to be flayed alive.
