Will I cheer on misfortune should it befall privileged or dangerous homophobic/transphobic individuals? Absolutely. Will I cheer on the indiscriminate slaughter of an impoverished oppressed population living under an apartheid state just because there may be pervasive queerphobia within the general culture? Also, on that note, if you are mad at someone and don't tell them, you also cannot expect them to know or do anything about it. Just like you cannot be expected to be a mind reader with other people, they cannot be expected to read your mind.

And like, sometimes that's fine! I definitely don't tell people I am mad at them if there's nothing constructive that will come of it! It's just also important to keep in mind because if you are hoping for a resolution, it can't happen unless you let the other person know what's up.

one of the biggest things I had to learn for my own mental health is that other people's thoughts, feelings, and actions are outside of my control. I used to be so afraid that everyone was secretly annoyed with me and mere seconds away from snapping and that kept me from asking for help when I really needed it. If someone is angry with you and hasn't said/done anything to deal with that, that's on them. If they suddenly blow up on you for something they never brought up, that's unreasonable. You can't read minds and assuming the worst is not a good substitute.

These people are uncomfortable with this kind of behavior, to the point that they're being pushed out of a space that's supposed to be for people like them. Unwanted sexual advances shouldn't suddenly become okay because it's women doing it to women.

I love that you took this light-hearted post about how lesbians don't value youth nearly as much as cishets (notice how the first line of the post was "something that makes me feel better about aging") and turned it into a weird thing about "this hypothetical group of lesbians (who you don't know and have never interacted with) is being pushed out of queer spaces by unwanted sexual advances!" (again you've never seen nor interacted with any of them and you don't know what you're talking about)

also, do elaborate. what is "this kind of behavior"? trying to fuck older women? are you genuinely trying to tell me that it's bad that I find older women attractive and display sexual interest in them?

you're right, I did misinterpret the original post, mb. what I was referring to with "this kind of behavior" was the comments on Tumblr dot com, not the irl advances. I interpreted all the "it's me I'm younger women, I want to fuck older women" etc etc comments as being rude and dismissive of the uncomfortable situation I imagined the older lesbians were in because of my misinterpretation of the original post.

It was a combination of mis-reading and projecting my own experiences that led to me interpreting the original post wrong and the comments I was talking about seemed rude in that context.
