The Measure of Things
"Why not?"
Mordecai nursed the warm cup in his hands, contemplating how to best explain his point. "Because it's ridiculous. Doing so would generate an overabundance of goods that the system is simply not made to tolerate."
He raised the cup to his lips, savoring the way the warm liquid wetted his tongue, and for a moment, he almost missed the way Roark paused in his reply.
"...Well, they can always compensate," said the tabby, stabbing his fork into the stack of pancakes and raising the skewered folds to his mouth. Surely he wouldn't-
He did.
With mortified shock - as well as a hint of genuine awe - Mordecai watched as Roark made quick work on the otherwise hefty breakfast meal. He had never seen such a feral and disgusting display, the way drops of maple syrup would sputter and scatter all across the bartop. Surely, the meal weren't so delicious as to los3 yourself in you base instincts?
Amidst the gorging, Roark seemeted to stop, considerimg his partner-in-meal.
"Whah h'ome?" he asked, proposing Mordecai the chewed and dripping core of what little remained of the stack. The gunman could barely shake his head, utterly stunned. "Mo'e fo' me!"
Learning How To Draw Through Rocky - Part 3
There be legs y'all.
With this one, I ventured onto the realms of full body, so I chose an exaggerated pose, one that highlighted his artistry as well as challenged me. This really did take one hell off an effort to coordinate - sometimess the legs were not legging, and when they were, Rocky looked like a resting slenderman or something. The Props, too - coordinating the limbs to look natural while interacting with the piano. It took a long time, but I'm proud of how it came to be.
Learning How To Draw Through Rocky - Part 2
Well, guess I am making this a journal or something.
In my next steps of my digital art pilgrimage, I decided to up the ante and really focus on pushing the limits of my creativity. While Angry Rocky was used as a stepping stone, Embarassed Rocky and Joyous Rocky as a way to iron out the kinks, and Flirty Rocky to really settle in, these next two was all about perfecting the little things.
Curious Rocky was made with 2 objectives in mind - to get a grip on how cloths and texture creased and behaved on bodies, so you know I had to let his winter outfit free of his closet. I also decided to practice shading and lighting, since good creases kinda beget better lighting practice, after all.
Mania Rocky was a continuation of the lighting studies, but instead of investigating how light interacted with the outside of Rocky, I decided to use lighting to play with his inner core; an extreme emotion, supported by fire and ash, cinders and smoke. I'm quite proud of this, even though that fire leaves *some* to be desired. It's still pretty good for a first-timer.
Next up on the list, I will be leaving the focus on emotion on the backseat, and turn my attention to activities through which more complex feelings could manifest. Playing the violin and the depiction of Eating are both perfect ways to push my studies further and who knows? Maybe become half decent too, by the end!
And yes, I am going to be using a different outfit for each. Can't quite get a grip with only his suit on, eh?

Learning how to draw through Rocky
in the last couple of weeks, I've been on a sort of a digital art pilgrimage, trying to learn the secrets of this craft. My goal was to reach a level where I could start adding original art to the chapters of my fics, of course, and since my current focus is a Lackadaisy fic of mine, I decided to use Rocky as my 'muse'.
I think this mood board of his that came together is looking better and better with each addition. The goal is to progress and learn with every new addition, and I'm proud to say something is working!
Wanted to try turning some unusual pokemon into anthro designs. Look at this totally trustworthy cofagrigus!
