it really pisses me off that eli called clare a whore. So she’s a whore for sleeping with a close friend during a vulnerable time while she was SINGLE, but it’s excusable for him to kiss a girl at college while he had a GIRLFRIEND who was barely in remission from cancer? hm.

"It is no question that Degrassi has no problem stirring up controversy so long as it can reach out to teenagers and give them a real, relate-able, plot.  fact, the show is known to "get real" in ways that many other shows have struggled to. In the past four seasons alone, they’ve introduced plotlines centered around homophobia, transphobia, mental illness (specifically bipolar disorder), sexual assault, racism, the (sometimes fatal) consequences of texting and driving, and suicide, to name a few. They even went as far as to show a gruesome image of a seventeen year old boy bloody in the hospital after crashing his car, as well as graphic depictions of the aforementioned sexual assault, but, somehow, having a character actually go through an abortion is where the line is drawn."

Just a random thought, but a better way they could have written Adam off the show would have been to just have Vince return as an antagonist to the Torres family. Be it parole or good behavior, he's obviously around, and so is Drew. Maybe Drew could have found out Vince was trying to force Zig into dealing drugs or something, or Vince could have just seen him and been like "Too bad Bee's not around to protect you this time" -- they could have written off the Torres brothers by having them move for real. Drew's overstayed his welcome, and Jordy couldn't exactly start transitioning. All it would have taken would have been making her stick around for, like, an extra season, even. It would have been so much better and believable, not to mention it'd feel a lot less cheap.
