brian moved from ny into the motel right next to jerry's to move his extra stuff in! jerry seems like the type of guy to greet his motel neighbors, and he'd seen brian around and he seemed intresting so jerry introduced himself. brian didn't really talk to anyone and wasn't good with people , but him and jerry really hit it off and years after hanging out alot, they became best friends :D
