The moon seemed to take over the sun, shrouding parts of South America and the southern Pacific in complete darkness — during the day.
The path of Tuesday’s total solar eclipse included Chile and Argentina, where people brought out special glasses, and even suits, to witness the celestial show.
The eclipse path also fell on scientific facilities such as La Silla Observatory in Chile and the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, also in Chile.

Solstice comes for all of us
Edna St. Vincent Millay, from The Collected Poems of E. M; “True Encounter,”
Sun Eater by artist Chris Cold.
The reborn wolf is at it again. For 2 days and 2 nights, the creature of darkness has been chasing a shipment of vegetables down a busy railroad line. The boxcars have a picture of sun rising over fields of green vegetables on them. The wolf is determined to somehow rip the sun off.
Don’t make the same mistake as I did, pup!
Capri Sun actually has no sun in it.
wolf playing in the snow
The wolf made in miniature runs rampant through a forest. The is earth is torn by their claws, and the leaves dance in at their heels. The one the Old Wolf ate and then rebirthed runs up to the highest rock they can find, an act of the Saint in miniature in their jaws: half a neon moon sign, ripped off and in half. Somewhere in the city, a late night coffee place is wondering where their logo went.
This fills my heart with more pride than you can imagine.
You may be ready for me to teach you how to inhale light directly.
“His blood is flowing still. The wolf licks yet again his burning wound / and the sun flares.”
