Thanks for the regram Reformation! We love you long time. <3
#EcoBitchFeatureFriday : GustoOrganics
GustoOrganics is the first and only USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC bar in the world. Holy EcoBitch that is amazing. They believe in high quality along every step in their process, from the ingredients, to the service. Can everyone just do this please? We all literally just had orgasms from reading their philosophy.
#EcoBitchWantItWednesday : Freedom of Animals
If this box bag by "Freedom of Animals" isn't the cutest thing you've seen all day then get out of my face. Not only is it CaF (chic as fuck), but it is made of post-consumer, cruelty free, eco-faux leather, is vegetable dyed, and has an organic cotton lining. And just when you thought it couldn't get better, all of "Freedom of Animals" products are made consciously in the USA. Brb I'm going to go buy everything they have.
#EcoBitchWantItWednesday : Pacari Chocolate
ZOMG IT'S HALLOWEEN WEEK!!!! Aka time to feast on candy and chocolate. But as always, there's an EcoBitch way to consume! This week we're telling you about Pacari Chocolate. Their chocolate comes from Ecuador and is made of the finest ingredients and is produced through fair, equitable standards. They work super closely with local cacao-farmers to maintain the most amazing flavor and support traditional ways of farming which allows for sustaining biodiversity of cacao so there will be no shortages of chocolate. Ugh can you imagine? We would literally die without chocolate.
Anyways, this is like pretty much guilt free chocolate, right? #nomnomnomnomnom
#HowToBeAnEcoBitch : Restaurant vs. Homemade Burgers
We are about to tell you the craziest shit ever. Get ready for your mind to be blown. K so the commercial char broilers that cook hamburgers in restaurants creates the same amount of pollution making one burger that an 18-wheeler diesel engine truck would emit after driving 143 miles. What. The. Literal. Hell.
So even though we're not huge supporters of burgers in general, if you're really craving a burger we suggest making your own at home! And just opt for something else when you're eating out! Easy peasy.
#HowToBeAnEcoBitch : Coffee Pods vs. French Press
So we've already told you about how much better it is for every one to use a travel mug over a single use disposable cup, but what about those EcoBitches who love making their coffee at home? We know that those little single use Keurig or Nespresso coffee pod thingys are super cute and easy to use but that's a shit ton of unnecessary individual packaging aka undecomposable plastic. K-cups (the pods for Keurig machines) used last year made enough trash to go around the equator 11 times. That is straight up ridiculous! So what's another super cute and easy alternative? A french press!! Not only do french presses look super chic sitting on your counter top, but they make no waste since a filter is already built in! Once again, the french know whats up...
#EcoBitchFeatureFriday : The Supply Change
"The Supply Change connects global brands with artisan groups to bring socially conscious fashion to the mainstream consumer." If that doesn't turn an EcoBitch on, I don't know what will. Chrissie Lam is the master mind behind The Supply Change. Her company helps to create mutually beneficial relationships between major brands with artisans from all over the world which creates a sustainable system in terms of manufacturing and consumption.
#EcoBitchWantItWednesday : WeWood
WeWood watches are AWESOME! They have such classic styles but are made from scrap wood. Um sorry what!?! That is amazing. Also for every watch they sell, they PLANT A TREE! Like crazy amazing. They have a goal to have planted 1 million trees by 2020. What an ecobitchy fusion of technology, fashion, and nature. Love it. Hallelujah.
#HowToBeAnEcoBitch : Non-Organic vs. Organic Food
Organic food has been around for like a super long time. It's now so common that it's just another word and we don't always think about what it truly means and the impact it has. EcoBitches are huge fans of organic foods since non-organic foods are just no good for you or for the environment. The nutritional value of organic vs non-organics are still being debated but there is no debate about non-organic foods contributing to chemical runoff into our water supply, soil health and greenhouse gas emissions, just to name a few. Organic food is way better for the environment and is also trendy, so like why not?
#HowToBeAnEcoBitch : Single Use vs. Reusable Cup
You guys. We know it’s fall and starting to cool down and that pumpkin spice latte is just so fucking appropriate right now but let’s be honest, your instagram pic of your single use paper cup from Starbucks showing your excitement for this beverage didn’t really get that many likes. And now that cup is just sitting in a landfill with 3 billion other Starbucks cups.
Not to worry basic bitch, we can help you out. EcoBitches' love of pumpkin spice lattes are just as strong as yours. We just get our in our super cute travel mugs that not only save a cup from the landfill but keep our PSLs toasty hot.
Just on a side note, we also would rather get our hawt beverages from a chic local coffee shop since Starbucks’ 8,832 stores and international resource use greatly impact climate change. Just saying.
#EcoBitchFeatureFriday : Mark Jupiter
EcoBitches lurrrrveeee custom shit so the beautiful furniture that Mark Jupiter creates locally is right up our alley. Their pieces are made from reclaimed wood and are each totally unique. Whatever you need, Mark Jupiter will make.
#EcoBitchWantItWednesday : Proof Eyewear
Holy shit someone get me these sunglasses RIGHT MEOW! If you didn't get it from that last sentence, we are super obsessed with Proof Eyewear. Not only do they have amazing eyewear styles for both sunglasses and prescription glasses but they're a sustainable company. Their awesome wood collection's materials are sourced from sustainable forests in America and Canada and the acetate they use comes from organic cotton which means it's biodegradable, renewable, and amazing.
#HowToBeAnEcoBitch : Plastic vs. Bamboo Toothbrushes
EcoBitches have very high standards when it comes to what we put in our mouths... So seeing that we put our toothbrushes in our mouths a couple times a day, we want to put something in our mouths that our mothers would approve of and the shitty, ugly plastic toothbrush most people use just doesn't cut it.
It doesn't take long to figure out that if you use 4 toothbrushes a year that's more than 300 in a lifetime which all end up sitting in a landfill. And trust me that shit does not decompose and will be around a lot longer than you will. And that's kind of depressing to think that your fleet of used toothbrushes will out live you.
You've probably already realized plastic is not our fav and why use it when there are way better materials, such as bamboo! Bamboo is a totally natural and biodegradable material which we are happy to put in our mouths multiple times a day.
#EcoBitchFeatureFriday : A Space Studio
A Space is an art and design studio led by Anna Aristova and Roza Gazarian. EcoBitches fo sho. They're based in Brooklyn, NY and their products are made from beautiful and natural materials, which we are obvs super in to. Their products and graphics are chic as fuck. Like for reals, how cute is that vase.
#EcoBitchWantItWednesday: Common Good
Fall is in the air. We are getting our shit together after our post-summer depression and we like to do so by doing some fall cleaning.
Enter Common Good & Co. These cleaning products not only use super natural ingredients but their packaging is chic enough to display. Like this shit needs to be in MoMA asap. And the really EcoBitchy thing about them is that you buy each product once and then when you run out you just refill it at a local retailer aka waaaaaay less waste.
#HowToBeAnEcoBitch: Reusable vs. Plastic Water Bottle
This one is obvs a no brainer but we still see basic bitches walking around with their plastic water bottles all the time. And "smart water"? More like "basic water."
Americans threw away 50 billion plastic water bottles last year. All of which people had to buy! You know your tap just gives away water right? Like for free.
Also, some of the compounds found in plastic have been found to alter hormones or have other potential human health effects and you are literally just voluntarily putting that shit right in your mouth!
Save your money, save your body, save the environment.
