Fitness Quote of the Day
“True motivation comes from within. No one can hand it to you, but no one can take it away, either.”
Such a true fact about being motivated.
You’ve probably heard me raving about Plant Nanny app months ago. I’m still using it!! Started back in November and 19 plants in my garden so far :) before you ask, it’s completely FREE (seriously)!!!
My tips on how to stick to this app:
- set up your notifications. Mine are set every 2 hours and it really helps. Plus the notifications make a cute sound! - you don’t want to see how this plant looks like when it’s dying, it’s so sad :( so drink your water!! - don’t cheat. It beats the point. Plus it’s good to check back and see when you’re not drinking enough water. For example, my lowest water intakes were on days when I was really stressed out and anxious. - set a default cup to something manageable (you can swipe up on the cup to change sizes). Mine is 300ml. - collect points by collecting seeds everyday. Choose different plants, pots, whatever. It’ll keep you playing AND remaining hydrated.
I love this app so much :)

3-Weeks-to-Sculpted-Arms Challenge
Everyone has their own reasons for wanting strong, defined arms; we’re here to help. After following this 21-day arm plan, not only will your arms look toned — you’ll also be stronger. First things first: don’t worry if you’ve never lifted a dumbbell in your life. This arm challenge was designed with everyone in mind — whether it’s your first time working out or you’re at the gym on a daily basis.
Getting started: The challenge consists of five basic exercises that help to target all the areas of your arms. Over the course of the challenge, you will increase the number of reps you’re doing of each exercise, eventually working up to three sets of 15 reps for each exercise.
Below is an explanation of how to do each of the five exercises, followed by the plan itself. Choosing the appropriate size weight is key here — you want one that fatigues your muscles by the end of the three sets. If the challenge ever feels too easy, that’s your cue to increase the weight of the dumbbells (and if you find you are fatiguing too early, decrease the weight amount). Beginners should start the plan with five-pound weights, and for you more-experienced lifters, make this challenge work for you by grabbing a heavier set.
Bicep Curl
-Start by holding a dumbbell in each hand at the sides of the body. -Keeping your elbows close to your side, slowly raise the dumbbells to the chest. -Moving with control, lower back to the starting position. *This counts as one rep.
Upright Row
-Place a dumbbell in each hand with your palms facing your body, shoulders over the pelvis, and a slight bend in the knees. -Keeping the dumbbells close to your body, raise them to your shoulders, bending your elbows out to the sides. Slowly lower them to the starting position. *This counts as one rep.
Triceps Kickback
-Holding a dumbbell in each hand, hinge forward from your hips, bending the knees slightly. Bend your elbows behind you. -Straighten your arms behind you with your palms facing in. Your arms should be parallel to the floor. Squeeze your triceps, and then return to the starting position. *This counts as one rep.
Overhead Shoulder Press
-Hold a dumbbell in each hand just above the shoulders, palms facing in. -Straighten the arms above you. -Bend the elbows coming back to the starting position to complete one rep.
Bent-Over Reverse Fly
-Holding a dumbbell in each hand with your closed palms facing out, stand with the knees slightly bent. Keeping your back flat, bend forward at the hip joint. -Lift both arms to the sides, maintaining a slight bend in the elbows, and squeeze your shoulder blades together. Then, with control, lower the dumbbells back together. *This completes one rep.
The 3-Week Plan
Choose an appropriate size dumbbell (three to eight pounds) and follow the plan below. Every other day is a rest day to give your muscles a chance to rebuild and become stronger.
DAY OF MONTH: NUMBER OF REPS
Day 1: 8 reps of each (3x) Day 2: Rest Day 3: 8 reps of each (3x) Day 4: Rest Day 5: 10 reps of each (3x) Day 6: Rest Day 7: 10 reps of each (3x) Day 8: Rest Day 9: 12 reps of each (3x) Day 10: Rest Day 11: 12 reps of each (3x) Day 12: Rest Day 13: 14 reps of each (3x) Day 14: Rest Day 15: 14 reps of each (3x) Day 16: Rest Day 17: 15 reps of each (3x) Day 18: Rest Day 19: 15 reps of each (3x) Day 20: Rest Day 21: 15 reps of each (3x)

A nice challenge
My 21 Day Habit Building Challenge
I’ve dug myself a hole and it’s fourth quarter. I must not have any excuses, just adjustments.
Statistically it takes 21 days to adapt to a new situation. It also takes 21 days to develop a habit. I’ve decided to take every goal that is a development of a habit and include that into my schedule for 21 days. This will include:
3. Develop a drink 2 liters of water every day habit
10 Develop a reading habit
13. Improve hygiene habit
15. Develop a visualizing habit
16. Develop writing habit
17. Improve diet habit
22. Say hello to every person I make eye contact with habit
The way I’m going to overcome this challenge is I’m going to start my day at 5am. No matter what I have to get up, for 21 days. I’ve given myself 150 reasons why it is necessary to get up that early every morning and start my day. I plan on being able to fit in: my 30 minute visualization habit, followed by my 30 minute reading habit, followed by my 30 minute writing habit, followed by my improved hygiene habit; all before I leave for work! I’ve imagined this and feelings it inspires radiate out of every pore of my being. The sense of accomplishment I would feel before I even got to work would just transcend my day, my week, my months, my years, my life. As for the other 3 habits, when it comes to the water, I’m just going to be the guy that carries a liter of water with me wherever I go. I’ll improve my diet when I get that gym membership and a routine and regiment. I’ll start with a smile and we’ll go from there.
All of this is allowing me to take care of:
12. Create a schedule
It seems that I am half way there. I’ve taken care of the human side of me for the time being. I’ll take care of the comedic side soon. I am instilling the habits necessary for me to be effective and efficient when I perform, period.
I’m also taking on another goal, which is:
11. Develop a daily goal list
So far my list looks like this:
0 of 0 alcoholic drinks consumed = 12 days
0 of 0 cigarettes smoked = 31 days
0 of 30 minutes visualizing
0 of 30 minutes writing
0 of 30 pages reading
0 of 2 liters of water drank
0 of 2 teeth brushed
0 of 1 showers taken
0 of 1 shave
It seems like December is turning out to be a developmental month. My 21 day habit building challenge will start Dec 1st and go until Dec 22nd. I am very curious to see what I will have to say after this. I’ve never done anything like this before. I look forward to the challenge.
21 days to a better you.
November Pushup Challenge!
Remember that funny song from back in the day, “I must, I must, I must increase my bust!”? There was even a dance/exercise to go with it (Thank you Lord Acid).
I thought for sure doing the exercise and singing the song would’ve helped my girls. LOL! Thankfully I now know better.
While you can’t actually make your boobs bigger from exercising, you can strengthen your chest muscles and create a lift. One of the best exercises to help achieve this is a Pushup. The pushup doesn’t just work your chest though. It’s a full body exercises that works your arms, shoulders, back, abs & legs.
Tribesports, one of my favorite fitness challenge websites, created this great pushup challenge for the month of November. I love that it includes variations so you engage more muscles.
It’s my Fitness Friday Recommendation. Try it!
Look at that perfection
Workout really pays out
Awe:) I wanna relationship like this.
Pushup challenge of the week
Its a new year a new day, why not 30 day pushup challenge if people thinking of joining this why not print this or copy it to your journal and get to it!
New year is coming so new challenge is required.
A challenge for the beast.
This is my fitness journal! Some of it is information about fitness and nutrition but most of it revolves around the daily log (3rd picture from the top) which i find extremely helpful! i never over eat or unnecessarily snack and i try to work out as much as possible. Just trying to give you guys some inspiration if needed!
First page of the journal. Not my best handwriting. 😐 but all of my current stats so that’s good! granted I just took them. Usually I don’t measure at night. I like to measure after I’ve done muh bidness in the mornings. Oh well it’s still a starting point!!
The importance of a fitness journal. Do you keep one?
